The space Once a working shepherds hut, we have lovingly and respectfully restored this hideaway to offer you rustic luxury at its best. A large covered outdoor kitchen area with all the modern amenities and an extensive dining table provides a truly unique setting to a world class outlook. The walls of solid macrocarpa milled from the farm and have been reconfigured to make the most of the sweeping coastal views looking south to Banks Peninsula and north beyond Kaikōura to the Clarence river. Sit by the roaring outdoor fireplace in the evening with a warm glass of red as the sun disappears behind the majestic snow caped Kaikōura mountains. Soak in the wood-fired hot tub under a clear night sky and stargaze with no light pollution. Guest access You are welcome to roam the surrounding farmland by foot if you wish, we just ask that you shut any gates that you find shut. There are plenty of native bush tracks surrounding the property. You engage in these activities at your own risk of course. Other things to note Access to the lodge is up a steep farm track. If you don't have a 4WD vehicle or feel confident driving the track, we are able to transport you to and from the lodge throughout you stay at no extra charge.
