Welcome to your beautiful, large, immaculate double room with a modern ensuite shower & toilet in the private annex of our 16th century home. Situated on the ground floor you will also have a private entrance and pretty terrace. Staying lovely & cool in the summer, there is also a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings (also with central heating). With views across the garden and to the countryside beyond, red squirrels and an array of birds are regular visitors to this peaceful haven. Relax! It is also ideal for those working away from home (the room is also equipped with a workstation). Our home is set in a lovely tended garden with fields and woods beyond. Views are breathtaking. So for those wishing to spend a few days relaxing, exploring the beautiful countryside and local villages or merely as a delightful stopping point for an onward journey, we are here to ensure that your stay is a comfortable one. The newly refurbished, immaculate room offers all the charm of a french 'maison de maître' but its modern amenities, including an ensuite shower room and free wifi, ensure your comfort on every level. A good night's sleep is guaranteed on the comfortable mattress with 100% cool cotton bed linen. A spare blanket and pillows are easily at hand in the wardrobe should you need them. Towels are provided and can be changed on request. The room is on the ground floor in an annex attached to the main house and has its own private entrance. For added comfort the window is fitted with a fly screen and a fly-screen insert is also available for the door (optional); useful for those balmy, warm nights. The thickness of the walls means that the room stays naturally cool during the hot summer months; much more comfortable than air conditioning we can assure you. And in the cooler months, even though there is central heating, we are happy to light the wood-burning stove to ensure your stay is warm and cosy. Step outside your room straight onto a pretty shaded, private terrace enveloped by the sweet fragrance of jasmine and lavender allowing you to relax in your own outside space with a glass of wine or a cuppa. We supply plates and cutlery etc. We also offer the use of an ice-box with ice packs upon request. Bottles of fresh, filtered water are provided in the room free of charge. If guests have any specific requirements, even if not mentioned, please let us know. We are resourceful hosts and will always do our best to help. Parking is private and on site and just outside the entrance to your room. And for our guests arriving by bike, we also provide secure, indoor storage for any type of bike including motorbikes. (advance notice please). Also available for boards, canoes and other outdoor equipment if space/size allows.(ADVANCE NOTICE PLEASE!) BREAKFAST POLICY We are delighted to offer a fresh continental breakfast made with seasonal and locally sourced produce. This is our full table-service breakfast (€24 per couple, payable cash) and is available for bookings of 2 or more guests. For solo travellers only, we offer a light self-serve breakfast which is delivered to your room and can be enjoyed wherever you prefer (€7 payable cash). This allows us to offer you a relaxing experience whilst keeping things sustainable for our small B+B The continental breakfast menu typically consists of: - Fruit juice - Fresh fruit of the season - Yogurt - Bread and Pastries - Granola - Tea and coffee (refills available) The light self-serve breakfast menu typically consists of: - Fruit juice - Pastries - Tea and coffee Please confirm if you require breakfast ahead of arrival and, if so, a time (we serve/deliver between 7.30 am and 9 am). Menus are flexible to a degree to accommodate guest's tastes and dietary requirement. Regrettably, for anyone with a nut allergy, we cannot guarantee that the produce is nut-free. Once an order is requested, cancellations will still be charged if enough notice is not given (at least 24 hours prior to the arrival date!) This is because items are purchased and freshly prepared. Please note, this is a 15th/16th century property and, whilst full of character, the thickness of the walls does impact the amount of natural light that can enter the room; particularly in the morning. For this reason the installed indoor lighting, whilst sympathetic to the architecture, is considered and plentiful. By late morning/early afternoon and in advance of your check-in the sun is hopefully out to greet you. Here we offer you a complimentary drink for you to enjoy on the terrace or in your room. There may be opportunity for another lovely, spacious double room with a large ensuite to be made available for larger groups. Please enquire prior to booking for details. Guest access Guests have a private entrance and terrace with their own key. They are also free to tour the garden and take breakfast on the main terrace. We are always on hand to help. During your stay We are here to assist our guests whenever necessary and will do everything we can to ensure their comfort.
