Step into history in a 200-year-old house with a roof terrace that has unparalleled views of Athens. The home is filled with family heirlooms, antique books, tapestries, and ancient artifacts. The back garden houses a small shrine to St Paraskevi. The house is built on 2 levels, with large homely kitchen and 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, whilst upstairs is the large and comfortable living room, a TV room/study and the master bedroom. A doorway from the lounge leads to an outside metal staircase that takes you to the roof terrace which has unparalleled views of Athens, including Lycabettus and the Olympic stadium at Kallimarmaro. Of course there are several views of the Acropolis walls, which is just behind the house. There is also a lovely back garden with shrubs and trees and lots of seating. This is a very rare find for central Athens. This charming house has been furnished with great care and detail, with old furniture, including handsome family heirlooms, antique books, tapestries and beautiful artwork on the walls. Even more unique are the several ancient artifacts placed in and around the house, including fragments of ancient columns and statues. These were found on-site and have been preserved. In the back garden there is also a small shrine to St. Friday (Paraskevi), which is visited by pilgrims once a year on her feast day. Guests have full access and privacy, as the owner does not live onsite. Your dashing host, Ioustinos (Justinian), can be reached at any time for your needs. The house is nestled in the old, timeless district of Plaka. It’s a few paces from the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the grand Dionysiou Aeropagitou promenade that leads past the ancient theater of Herodion Atticus. The Acropolis metro is 5 minutes walk and connects you to the airport and Pireaus sea port. A few blocks away is the main Amalias Avenue from where you can easily catch a cab or one of the many tour buses that stop there. #Notes Welcome shampoo and conditioner is provided.
