Casa Verde

Casa Verde is a complete little house for one or two guests. It is well equipped, quiet, private and dog friendly. It has a walled rear courtyard nicely landscaped and big trees for summer shade. The rear patio has dining for two and a BBQ. Casa Verde is three blocks to the Plaza and has off street parking. There is a laundry room for guest use. Firewood and kindling are available in driveway woodbox for guests at Casa Verde. Nicely furnished, original art, whimsy and just plain fun The space This casita is located on a quiet one block dead end street just three blocks from the Plaza. It has a living / dining room combination. The dining table seats four. The living room area has a loveseat sofa that is a twin sofa sleeper with gel foam mattress and all bedding. Additional $35 per night to add when booking. There is a wood burning kiva fireplace in the corner of the living room with charming tile trim. Fragrant cedar firewood is provided for guests who enjoy a fire. Main heat source are baseboard heaters in each room. Screened operable windows throughout the casita provide nice ventilation. Each of the three exterior doors are screened. The living room and bedroom also have ceiling fans. Enjoy a mountain view from the front living room window and a garden view from the dining area. The well equipped kitchen has everything you might need for meals at home. The newly tiled counter tops are just plain fun! The full bathroom with tub/shower combination is also newly tiled and well equipped. There is a queen bedroom with good reading lights, dresser and closet space with robes provided. This casita has total privacy since it is surrounded by a tall stucco wall.The courtyard is landscaped with in ground plants and also big ceramic pots with seasonal color. Large trees shade this area nicely in the summer. The patio has table and chairs and a BBQ. There is also a cushioned bench under an elm tree for relaxing. A large number of my whimsical recycled garden art pieces are displayed throughout the courtyard. As with all my properties Casa Verde is dog friendly at $10 per night per dog which may be left at departure. I provide dog sheets for furniture and a box of mutt mitts for clean up. When the front gate is closed you and your dog has a nice totally private outdoor space. This entire property was featured on the 2017 Taos Home & Garden Tour. Quite a compliment. Guest access The entire private space behind the gate is yours. House, patio and courtyard. Casa Verde is part of a four unit compound. I live in one, there is another casita and a big front house. However I can vouch for the fact that I never hear other guests. The high walled courtyards ensure privacy for everyone and plenty of parking. Other things to note PET FRIENDLY- 2 PET MAXIMUM SMALL FEE APPLIES. When I bought this property it needed a lot. The Inspection report was 49 pages, but I knew it had great potential with four private units all with private entrances, good layouts, private courtyards for outdoor living, charm and personalities, laundry room, quiet, three blocks from the Plaza. Guests rent the separate units or all three for families, friends or reunions. The three can sleep up to 10 guests. Lots of work, but it is just so nice now. Plus I just love the planning, destruction, construction, furnishing, decorating, equipping, landscaping and of course my sense of whimsy throughout.
