"The Birdcage" is a large holiday home in Cowan Cowan, Moreton Island. With 5 good sized bedrooms this property can cater for 2 groups/families very easily. This property is truly the home to experience "Island living" in with a large family deck. We do require a refundable damage bond of $1500.00 to be paid to the agent prior to arrival. Guest access Linen hire is not included, if guests wish to hire sheets, towels, pillowcases and have made beds up prior to arrival, there is an additional fee of $50.00 per person not included in the nightly rates or clean fee. Contact host prior to arrival to arrange linen. A $1500.00 refundable damage bond is requried for each booking at this property, The bond payment has to be made direct to the agent MIAS prior to arrival. Other things to note A security bond of $1,500.00 is payable on the day of arrival. A valid credit card must be provided prior to arrival to secure the bond. The security bond will be released within 3–5 days after departure, provided no issues arise. This bond is for any incidentals, damages or breakages incurred during the stay will be charged against the bond. Contact host prior to arrival to arrange linen. BRINGING A 4WD: As Moreton Island is a sand Island (3rd largest in the world) the only vehicles that operate on the Island are 4WD. Providing your vehicle is a 4WD, you can drive it on the island as all the tracks on the island are built for 4WD vehicles only. It is not recommended to bring an All-Wheel Drive vehicle across as they are too low for adequate ground clearance of the tracks. The MiCat vehicle and passenger Ferry from Howard Smith Drive, Lytton at the Port of Brisbane to the Tangalooma Wrecks is the only vehicle Ferry operating between Brisbane and Tangalooma, therefore early bookings are essential. WE DO RECOMMEND WHEN BOOKING ACCOMMODATION, YOU ALSO BOOK YOUR FERRY AT THE SAME TIME, OTHERWISE YOU MAY MISS OUT ON A FERRY SPOT OR GET A VERY EARLY LATE TIME OF ARRIVAL WHICH MAY BE AN INCONVENIENCE FOR YOU. POWER: We do wish to advise the property you have booked is totally reliant on sunshine for power. Therefore, guests cannot use in the property, hair dryers, hair straighteners, use appliances such as washing machines at night or plug into the house any personal car fridges. There are no microwaves or toasters in most of the properties as they cannot hold the power required to use these appliances.
