Oakwood is a family-friendly retreat in the Mid Wales countryside, perfect for quality time together. We accept bookings for up to two adults and one or two children (under 18), and do not accommodate adult-only groups. Enjoy our private stretch of river for fishing, paddleboarding, and canoeing, with scenic walks and cycling routes nearby. Local pubs, shops, and restaurants are within 1.5 miles, making it an ideal base to explore the area. The space Welcome to Oakwood Cabin, a peaceful countryside retreat designed with families in mind, set within a beautiful private park on the edge of Mid Wales. Here, you can slow down, reconnect, and enjoy quality time together surrounded by nature. Children will love the sense of adventure right on your doorstep. Explore miles of safe, open walking paths, meet the friendly horses and alpacas, and keep an eye out for kingfishers, otters, and other wildlife that call the park home. Families can also enjoy exclusive fishing along a private stretch of the River Tanat, with fishing passes included—perfect for introducing little ones to something new. The nearby Montgomeryshire Canal offers gentle, scenic walks ideal for all ages, while the welcoming village of Llanymynech (just 1.5 miles away) has family-friendly pubs, a local shop, and easy takeaway options for relaxed evenings. The famous Offa’s Dyke Path also runs through the village, making it a great base for outdoor adventures. Inside, Oakwood Cabin is thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable family stay. The fully fitted kitchen includes everything you need—from a cooker and hob to a dishwasher and fridge/freezer—making mealtimes easy and stress-free. The cosy double bedroom provides a restful space for parents, while the open-plan living and dining area includes two small single beds, perfect for children to settle in after a day of exploring. Fresh bedding, soft towels, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a TV with Freeview are all provided to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. Outside, the private seating area with BBQ stand is ideal for family meals, letting you relax while the kids enjoy the fresh air. Parking is conveniently located right next to the cabin for easy unloading. For days out, you’ll find plenty nearby to keep everyone entertained, including golf, horse riding, and local attractions to explore across Mid Wales.
