Private cottage - Atherton Tablelands

A cosy self contained cottage in the Atherton Tablelands suitable for up to two adults, no children or infants. No neighbours for 400 meters. Enjoy the peace and quiet, abundant wildlife and various walking tracks on our 20ha property adjacent to World Heritage Forest. A great central place to explore the beautiful Tablelands. Most guests wished they could have stayed longer so consider to stay an extra night. The space The property is a gazetted Nature Refuge under legislation so wild life is abundant with wallabies, possums and many birds coming close to the cottage. The cottage is away from any main roads and 400 meters from our house that is located further up in the forest. We generate and store all of our own electricity for the property and ask that you consider its usage. Guest access Check in time is from 3pm to 7pm. For later arrivals, special arrangement can be discussed. Check out by 11 am. You will have use of the whole cottage which has one king size bed with a small bathroom and toilet, dining area with kitchen. In the Glass room is a sitting area. Plenty of veranda space to sit or eat outside. The cottage does have personal belongings and is used for private use for parts of the year. We do ask to treat all with respect. Other things to note We generate and store all of our own electricity for the property. Please be mindful of its use and turn off lights and other appliances when not in use. There are walking tracks on the property but they will take a higher level of fitness. The property is adjacent to World Heritage Forest and is centrally located to all Misty Mountain Trails for those who wish to do more walking. Being in the forest, ants, spiders and other insects are a part of our everyday life. Spiders can build a new web within an hour and food items can attract ants in no time. We will endeavour to keep them away as much as possible but hey, spider webs keep the mozzies and other insects out ;). Please note that we are situated 1000 m above sea level and even though we are in the Tropics it can get cold at night during the winter months. Bring some warm clothing to keep comfortable. There is a heater in the Cottage that will heat the Cottage and there are plenty of blankets to snuggle under for the Glass Room or the Veranda. As we live in a bush fire prone area we don't allow fires. There is Wifi available as well as general mobile phone coverage. There is a tv with a large library of movies for you to watch or for you to connect your own device to. There is no terrestrial TV reception.
