Come & visit in the foothills of the Rockies! Lovely quiet, smoke-free apartment in residential neighborhood in Golden Colorado at the base of Lookout Mountain. Kitchen has all amenities: dishes, cookware, coffeemaker and microwave. Guest has private washer & dryer in apartment. Free wi-fi and Roku on the Visio TV. Plenty of on-street parking directly in front of house. Apartment is across from open space and neighborhood park where elk, fox, bobcat, and coyote sightings are a regular occurrence; and 1/2 mile from base of Apex Open Space Park for mountain biking and hiking. Two miles to downtown "old town" Golden and a mile from Morrison exit of I-70, and 2 miles to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Summit County with the best skiing in the world--is only an hour away and downtown Denver is 20 to 30 minutes straight down 6th avenue. Jump on the light rail from Golden to downtown Denver (look up the "W" Line on the RTD website) to get into the heart of Lodo in 40 minutes. The Golden light rail station is a mile from my apartment. And we take our procycling seriously—Golden hosted stages for the two USA Procycling in Challenge Races in 2011 and 2012! LOCAL CYCLING: go for a ride up Lookout Mountain—which sits right above the Foothills of the Rockies apartment. It’s a ten minute ride to the base of Lookout from the apartment. It usually takes me 40 minutes to ride up Lookout—compared to the record 14 minutes for the pros! What will your time be? MOUNTAIN BIKING Want to mountain bike instead? The world famous Apex trail trailhead is ½ mile from my Air B&B apartment. Check out the excellent single track at 7000 feet with a great view of Denver and the foothills from the top. KAYAKING Did somebody say kayaking—we’ve got one of the best white water kayaking parks right in downtown Golden! ROCK CLIMBING Kayaking not your thing?—want to rock climb instead? Excellent rock climbing is available within 5 miles of the apartment on North Table Mountain in Golden! MOTOCROSS If something with a motor is more your thing—Thunder Valley Motocross Park is just down the street. OUTDOOR CONCERTS And if you want to just kickback and enjoy a concert at world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre—check it out—2 miles from the Air B&B apartment. You could ride your bike there –I always do! But be ready for the altitude—‘cause you’re already at 6250 feet when you leave the driveway of the house! SKIING The “Foothills of the Rockies” Apartment is 1 hour from the best skiing in the world! Check out the Arapahoe Basin webcams for the latest snow conditions—and I mean the latest—cause their live webcams!
