Description
Our house is in the seaside town of Portslade, part of the City of Brighton and Hove. It’s a spacious townhouse on a fairy quiet road. We have a leafy patio garden at the back which you can enjoy in the summertime. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious with enough room for a travel cot in at least two of them. We are well located for easy access to the A23 and A27 and access into the centre of Brighton is easy by public transport, then nearest bus stop being a few minutes walk away. The space This is our family home. It’s a lovely traditional Edwardian/Victorian townhouse which is spacious enough for six guests. We have a leafy patio garden and wake to the sound of birdsong in the morning. You’ll have to nip up to the attic room for hangers/wardrobe hanging space as the other cupboards hold our personal things. There’s just one bathroom but it holds a large bath and separate shower so two can bathe at once depending on how friendly with each you are! The rooms are light and spacious with ample room for a travel cot in the two largest bedrooms. It’s a great kitchen for cooking in with a large range cooker and an open plan layout which means you can all hang out whilst cooking. The living room is tranquil and calm but holds an Alexa echo dot if you want to listen to music and there is also a TV (and several more in the house). Guest access The entire house will be free for your use, except for one attic room and the shed, which will be locked and used for our storage. There is a small, pretty patio garden at the rear of the house, which you are free to use, but please do not make noise or play loud music past 10pm as we have the most wonderful neighbours and would like to respect their evenings. Other things to note Portslade is on the outskirts of The City of Brighton and Hove. Portslade train station is within 10 minutes walk. A taxi into the centre will cost around £15, and an all day bus pass is around £5 (extra payable for late night buses). There is free parking in the park nearby, but it can get busy. Otherwise, there is now light touch parking outside the house where a permit is needed between the hours of 11-noon and 6-7pm only on weekdays. The upside of this is that it is easy to park and I can provide permits. Parking in the city centre can be expensive, so public transport is advisable. The city has bicycles available to hire. There are stands with various hire points around the city. The nearest is a few minutes walk from the house on the corner of New Church Road. More info can be found at Brighton Bikeshare.
