Farmhouse style self-catering cottage in Dorset

Just over a mile from the coast in Dorset is Pheasants, a farmhouse style cottage, with open fireplace and comfortable sofa's to relax in. The fitted kitchen-diner is perfect for family dining. Off the dining area is a ground floor bedroom with ensuite shower, ideal for those who prefer not to climb stairs. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, a twin with fitted wardrobe and vanity unit and double with freestanding pine furniture. There is also a nursery room and family bathroom. CH throughout. The space Sleeps 6 guests plus an infant (under 2). 3 bedrooms plus nursery room with large wooden cot (please bring your own cot bedding). There is a twin bedroom, double bedroom and nursery upstairs, with a third bedroom on the ground floor. The ground floor bedroom can be either twin beds or a king-size double, zip and link style (please let us know at the time of booking how you'd like the beds making up in this bedroom). The ground floor bedroom has an en-suite shower room. This child-friendly accommodation including high chair and stair gates, so you don't need to worry about packing those bulking items! Your spacious open plan living area has 2 large sofas, perfect for relaxing into after you've had a busy day exploring Dorset or enjoying one of the local beaches on the world famous Jurassic coastline. Pheasants opens onto a gravel courtyard with terrace opposite ideal for BBQ's or just relaxing in the evening sun. Parking available for 1 car outside the property. Additional parking available in our main car park. Your “Welcome” Hospitality Pack includes teas, coffee, milk, a cake and biscuits. We always try to use local producers whenever possible, so you can get a true taste of Dorset. Linen and towels are provided (not beach towels, please bring your own, thank you). Free Wi-Fi, please note we are rural so you may find it a little slower than city Wi-Fi. Open gardens are for all our guests to enjoy, please be aware we have ponds in our gardens, therefore children should not be left unattended. Swings and garden games area. Charcoal BBQ available May - October. We can leave a BBQ for you outside of these dates by prior arrangement. You will need to supply your own charcoal. Please note our welcome pack may vary due to the time of year, seasons. Guest access Your holiday home is fully self contained and set within 5 acres of gardens and grounds. These grounds are open to all our guests for everyone's enjoyment. We also have a children's play area, with swings and garden games available. There is a sun terrace opposite your cottage for you to have a BBQ or simply make the most of the summer sun. You should find your BBQ outside your cottage, but if its not there (out of season) just ask and we can provide one for you. Please be aware we have open spring fed ponds within the gardens and never leave children unattended, thank you. Other things to note Ringstead Bay on the Jurassic coast, is our nearest beach, just over a mile away. There's a café and parking (there's a charge for parking) at the beach. The nearest convenience store is approximately 3 miles from us and is well stocked or Craig's Farm Shop is about mile and a half away. By prior arrangement you can see the cows being milked at Craig's Farm Dairy, please talk to us about this at check in. There are a number of pub / restaurants all within 3-4 miles of your holiday cottage. Weymouth is just 6 miles away with its sandy beaches, fishing harbour and array of shops, restaurants, bars and many things to do, including the Sealife Centre and Sandworld. Dorchester is also about 6 miles from us with museums, shops and lots of different places to eat. Monkey World is approximately a 15 minute drive, as is The Tank Museum.
