Description
Trevose is a stylish 2 bed (one king, one double) former fisherman's cottage in the old part of Porthleven, 7 min stroll to the beautiful harbour with great pubs, cafes, restaurants and beach. Trevose is a homely cottage that has everything you need for a relaxing self-catering holiday in vibrant Porthleven. Dog friendly and with super fast broadband, the cottage is ideal for those looking for a relaxing and comfortable holiday or a WFH let in this stunning area of Cornwall. The space Trevose is set for a fully catered holiday with all linen and towels included, ideal for couples or small families. It is a former fisherman's cottage and at 69sqm it isn't huge! We have a very well equipped kitchen, with granite worktops, large fridge freezer an induction hob, electric fan oven, Nespresso machine, microwave and all the equipment needed to cater for yourselves. Please note there are 2 steps from the living area to the kitchen which is lower than the main living room floor. We have an open plan living and dining room with a granite fireplace with a wood burner and plenty of logs for you to use for those cosy nights in. There are two, two-seater sofa's and dining table for 4 people. The airy and bright master bedroom has a king bed and the second has a double bed, both with smart TV's with Netflix/Prime. They share a fully tiled bathroom with walk in shower, (no bath sorry). We can provide a travel cot, highchair and stair gate. Outside is a small paved courtyard with secure gate and seats for 4. Out the front is a storage bench with dog towels and the bin storage, plus a few bushes which your dog may enjoy using! Cornwall is very dog friendly and we very much welcome your well behaved dogs, who will love exploring the area with you! I will provide lots of suggestions for wonderful walks with your four legged friends. The cottage is a short walk into the harbour where there are numerous award winning restaurants; Amelies, The Square, Kota and Kota Kai, as well as excellent pubs all serving food. There are several cafe's and pop up's, serving everything from wonderful cooked breakfasts, bagels, burgers and lobster to afternoon tea and ice creams. We enjoy a fantastic community spirit in Porthleven - if your lucky to be there in the summer on a Sunday don't miss the local brass band playing or experience life-boat day. We have a great local beach with the iconic Clock Tower at its head, plus there are amazing and contrasting beaches all within a short drive away. Our favourites include Praa Sands, Kynance Cove, Poldhu, Dollar and Church Cove (for Poldark and Doc Martin fans) and we are in easy reach of Mullion, Lands End, Sennen, Cape Cornwall, Zennor and historic mining country around Botallack. The eastern side of the Lizard are the lovely villages of Coverack, Cadgwith and Helford with numerous coves and sandy beaches to discover. We are close to Falmouth, Mylor and St Mawes and the beautiful Helford area. It is very easy to get off the beaten track in our area and find a spot all for yourselves. St Ives is 40 minutes drive away or you can park and take the short spectacular train journey from Lelant or St Erth. Nearby Hayle boasts some spectacular beaches including Porthkidney and Gwithian. We chose Trevose as we so love the brilliant location and fantastic harbour of Porthleven. After spending many holidays in gloriously remote areas, we found ourselves pulling straws as to who drove out each evening, so the amenities on offer within a few minutes walk from our cottage is such a bonus. We are in a quiet street in the heart of a bustling village/small town, so please understand that our environment will reflect normal residential area living, such as light from street lamps, children playing and plenty of seagulls! We are close to many attractions in Cornwall, however feel so fortunate to have lovely Porthleven Harbour just a few minutes stroll away! Guest access Whole house. Other things to note There is no assigned private parking space, but free on road parking, however we cannot guarantee you can park right outside the cottage, sorry! Seagulls can be noisy during the summer!
