My parents lived in this house for 35 yrs & my father was the minister of a local church. Now the home is a refuge for all travelers to enjoy. House is near downtown Indianapolis (approx 2 miles) & across the street is a large municipal park. The Parson’s House offers a culturally diverse urban vibe with easy access to I-70 or short Uber ride to every downtown destination. It is a bungalow built in 1930 with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a finished basement, a front porch & can house up to five guests. PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING! WE DO NOT ALLOW PARTIES, CELEBRATIONS, OR ANY GATHERING THAT INVOLVES INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NOT A PART OF THE RESERVATION ON OUR PROPERTY. This neighborhood and this property is not a fit for large groups of people or noisy celebrations. NO ONE, other than the individuals listed on your reservation, should be on the property for any reason, unless prior permission is received. In the event that this is broken, your reservation will be ended through Airbnb, you will NOT be given a refund, and you WILL be asked to leave immediately. We have, and will continue to enforce this. If you are looking to throw a party, book elsewhere! Guests have access to the entire house and grounds. There is enough sleeping for five (5) guests using four beds. Please book the house with the correct number of guests so I can have enough supplies and beds ready. There is a fenced in back yard and propane grill is available. All the furnishings in the house are new including memory foam beds, linens/blankets/pillows, sofa bed, dinette table, end tables, lamps, TVs, and chairs/loveseat. You will love the lodge feel of the basement. There are two wall mounted flat screen TVs. House has high speed internet, fully equipped kitchen with pots/pans/silverware/all the essential cooking accessories, washer and dryer in the basement. Recent renovation to house includes new plumbing, new central heating and AC, fresh paint, new appliances, electrical upgrades, new flooring and more. No pets please. House is perfect for families or business travelers to Indy. No undeclared additional guests. Clean up after yourself and put things back as you found them. There is a touchpad keyless entry deadbolt on the back door for easy access. The entire home is available for access. The back yard is fenced in and is great for grilling. The garage buildings in back are not accessible. Recently, the neighborhood has benefited from investor interest and renovation and is experiencing somewhat of a rebirth. Rhodius Park, a large municipal park, sits right across the street and has a public pool, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, playgrounds, an elementary school and walking and biking trails. Neighborhood has an urban feel with plenty of diversity. From the vantage point of the park, you can see the Indy downtown. There is an East African church and several Latino churches close by. The East African church has a large attendance so street parking on Sundays is a challenge. House is close to interstate 70, the Indianapolis Zoo, IUPUI, White River State park, Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indiana Convention Center, Victory Field, Riley Hospital, Eli Lilly Technology Center and a short Uber or Lyft ride to any location downtown. If you are driving a car, please park on the street in front of the house. If you are wanting to drive downtown, the house has easy access to I-70. The best way to get downtown is a short and inexpensive Uber or Lyft ride. If you are interested in making coffee with a French press, there is one in the kitchen. Or, you can use the regular drip coffee maker instead. Coffee and tea are always available. Please make sure the front storm door, the front door and back door are all locked when leaving house. I recommend that you enter and leave house through back door. Service and support pets are welcome per the existing Airbnb policy. Please note that the host is severely allergic to cats. Please let the host know about service or support pets prior to booking.
