The space The apartment is in a super central location, just two minutes from the Grassmarket with its cosmopolitan variety of cafes, bars, restaurants and quirky boutiques. A 10 minute walk will bring you to our famous Princes Street and its gardens. Many of the museums, galleries and attractions in Edinburgh city centre and the Royal Mile are also an easy stroll away. The apartment is located at the back of the building, away from the bustle of the main street. It is part of a gated community, with entry by code. This comfortable apartment comprises of a spacious living room, a separate fitted kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom with a walk in shower. There are spectacular views of the Castle from the bedroom and the kitchen which allow you to appreciate its grandeur. There is electric heating throughout. The living room has a big two seater sofa ( this can be available as a single sofa bed by prior arrangement and upon payment of £25 to cover linen and labour), extendable dining table with seating for two, and flat screen TV. Unlimited wifi is available. The bedroom has a king size bed (queen size in the US), mirrored wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, hairdryer and alarm clock. In the kitchen you will find all the utensils that you need for cooking your own food, plus basics like salt, pepper, cooking oil. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided. A cot and high chair can be provided on request for a payment of £15 for one item, £25 for both. This apartment sleeps 2 comfortably for short and long stays. The double bed is king size and the sofa bed is a generous single size at 4 ft wide (133 cm). The apartment is an ideal base a city break, romantic getaway, business trip or visiting the university. There are good public transport links with one bus stop about 10 metres from the building entrance and many more within 10 minutes walk. There is a good supermarket just 5 minutes away with a good choice of food. Every Saturday, there is a Farmer's Market on Castle Terrace where you can buy lovely Scottish meat, fish, fruit and vegetable. This is also a good option for an al fresco lunch. Directly opposite the apartment is The Coffee Mill, run by the gregarious Gino, where you can have breakfast, lunch or a cup of tea. A couple of doors down is L'Etoile, run by the charming Nobel and serving both British and French food. And just 5 minutes away is one of the best cake shops in Edinburgh - Lovecrumb. A perfect place for a coffee and cake. Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Band C Other things to note The entry level to the building is on the third floor. To reach this apartment, you need to descend 15 steps and climb up 7. There is a weight limit on the sofa bed of 14 stone or 89 kg. Please only use the sofa bed if you have arranged this in advance. A maximum of 2 people can stay in this apartment - this is a condition of the licence. If two guests stay, and require both the double bed and the sofa bed, there will be an additional one off charge of £25 to cover the extra linen and labour. Please remove outdoor shoes in the apartment. Please wash dishes and leave them to dry before departure. A 2 hour clean is included in the cost of your stay. It the clean requires more time than this, guests will be asked for a further payment. If smoking takes place in the apartment or inside the building, the charge will be £100. Please let me know if some thing breaks - it is much easier to deal with if I have some notice! The apartment is in a residential building.
