Well appointed, spacious and comfortable plantation style home in the heart of South Georgia. Peaceful and natural surroundings create the perfect getaway. This home has been in our family for generations. It is full of memories and laughter which still resonate with a peaceful and positive energy. It is not pristine. There may be a spot on the carpet or squeaky door. The microwave is large and old. But, it is beautiful, comfortable, serene, well appointed, and peaceful. We have never had a guest that wasn't immediately planning when they could return. Home offers fully stocked kitchen, 3 living rooms, (2 with televisions and dish network,) wifi, new plank flooring in the dining room, large bedroom and formal living room, 3 large bathrooms, washer/dryer, board games and a variety of movies, and plenty of parking. There is a horse and a donkey kept on site that top off the "farm feel". Apples are their favorite! The sunsets are unbelievable, and the fire pit is ready for a cool night. All you have to do is exhale and relax. Guests have access to entire home and the yard area within the fence. (About 3 acres.) We ask that you not cross the fence. There are several old, small structures that have become unsafe. They are not unsightly and actually add to feel of it, but need to stay off limits. We are available at any time. If staying more than one night, we will touch base every other day or so to make sure everything is perfect with your stay. If you prefer to be left alone- we get that too! Just let us know. Ocilla and Fitzgerald are the epitome of classic small towns! Fitzgerald's historic downtown is full of charming boutiques and thrift shops. It also offers a Walmart that is 12 minutes from the house. Very convenient. Ocilla also offers a few walkable shops and several small restaurants including a brick oven pizzeria and the famous "Cat Fish house." For a larger selection of shopping and dining, Tifton is a scenic 25 minute drive. No public transit. *Fitzgerald and Ocilla are dry counties on Sunday! Make sure you get what you need by Saturday if you plan on imbibing on Sunday. *laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, shampoo/soap/body wash are provided. We ask that if you stay longer than 3 days and are using these items, please grab a 4 pack of toilet paper or anything as a contribution to the next guest. If you've done 20 loads of laundry, grab some dryer sheets if you hit the store. We want everyone to be comfortable and use whatever they need, just with a communal spirit of sharing and replacing. Please notify us if we are low on any items listed. *Gas fireplace in formal living room is inoperable. * the house offers 2 master bedrooms, both with kings and one with bathroom. The rear of the house offer an additional bedroom with ultra firm King bed, and another bedroom with 2 queens. There is also a pull out sofa in rear family room.
