Description
Deer Park cottage is situated within the private Scottish estate garden and is surrounded by the deer park. It is the most secluded of cottages and offers a very private and natural hideaway. Powered by wood pellet boiler and on its own water system supplied from the Ochills you can feel completely at one with nature. On occasions you can wake up to deer grazing within feet of your bedroom window and be lulled to sleep by the hooting of owls or wind blowing through the trees. The space The house has a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of pots & pans, coffee machine (cookworks, not a pod machine) microwave, kettle, oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and all the utensils you should require for cooking and creating meals. There are two seating areas for enjoying meals, either on stools round a small table in the kitchen or round a larger dinning room table in the adjoining morning room which has a log burner. The king size bedroom is located downstairs next to the sitting room. There is a shower room with W/C located next to the kitchen. Upstairs a small landing separates two further bedrooms, a twin with en-suite and a single bedroom. The cottage also has washing facilities with a washer dryer, iron and ironing board. The garden can be accessed via two doors, one leading from the kitchen and the main front door that had a porch lobby for leaving muddy boots and coats. The cottage has internet Wi-Fi and a television with DVD player in the sitting room. There is also another log burning stove in the sitting room. * We do accept dogs, however an extra of £5/day per dog is required on arrival. We kindly ask that dogs are not taken into bedrooms or upstairs, and that all garden areas are checked for any mess prior to departure. Due to the position of this cottage it is essential your dog does not chase or bark at livestock. * A working deer farm has many different stages to the year. During the spring and summer the deer rotate round the estate into different fields on a fairly regular basis. Deer calves are born around April-June. The rut then begins sometimes as early as September. During the rut you can hear the stags roaring as the rut gets into full swing around late September and into November. * Please note there is no guarantee to the deer activity during your stay as farming the land can change on a weekly basis, therefore the deer may not be in the field opposite the cottage, however that said it is guaranteed you will get a chance to see a herd of deer somewhere on the estate. * The kitchen has basic supplies including ingredients you may need for cooking. * Guests staying with young children please be aware that there is no stair gate and the master bedroom is downstairs while the twin and single rooms are upstairs. If you would like you can request to sleep upstairs in the twin room to be close to very young children, the twin room actually has the best views but low ceilings! * Please when booking could you let us know who your group consists of. We make up the number of beds required so if a couple is staying we will only make up the king bed unless asked otherwise. If when you are staying you require more beds or linen made up you will need to pay the supplement. Please also let us know your children’s ages in a quick message, this helps us prepare and we can arrange for toys and books to be left out for little ones. * Under no circumstances can you book the cottage for a limited number of guests and then bring more guests than stated. * COVID-19 update: All our touchable surfaces wiped and all houses are aired and cleaned carefully between guests.
