Bird's Nest – Charming Sunny Family House

Bird's Nest is a private sunny family house surrounded by a secluded peaceful garden with lots of trees and birds. A perfect place to relax and rest with your family while exploring the Abel Tasman Nationalpark, the Great Taste Cycle Trail or the Richmond Hills. The Richmond Hills have lots of walking and mountain bike trails with fantastic views over the Tasman Bay. Rabbit Island with its wonderful beach and spectacular scenery is also a great place to enjoy the day and just 15 min away by car. The space Our house is a lovely timber house surrounded by native plants and birds. This gives the property a very nice cosy feeling and lots of privacy. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood (cul-de-sac) and it's only a few minutes away from great walking and mountain bike tracks in the Richmond Hills and not far from the Richmond town centre. The house has got two and a half levels. Downstairs are the kitchen, dining and living area as well as one of our bedrooms looking into our garden with a comfortable queen bed. There is also a separate bathroom (shower and bath) and toilet down the hallway for guests sleeping downstairs. There is another little level going up from our kitchen to our lounge with a fantastic view over the bay. The upstairs level of the house has got three bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and toilet. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, which looks into our garden, the other two bedrooms are our children's bedrooms and have got a queen bed and a single bed. These bedrooms (queen bed and the single bed) are connected and have instead of a door a curtain in between the arch, although you can reach each room through their own door. The house has got steps and stairs, therefore it's not suitable for people with mobility difficulties (some without rails). Our garden has got a trampoline and a swinging rope to keep the kids entertained whilst enjoying a good read and a nice cup of tea or coffee under the trees. Guest access We rent out our entire house for guests – there is also a BBQ area in the garden and an outdoor fireplace for cosy evenings under the stars. Just drop one of our bean bags in front of the fire and relax. Other things to note Behind our house are the Richmond Hills, which are covered with Mountain Bike Trails and some good walks (dog friendly). The Great Taste Cycle Trail is not far away either. Richmond is also a great location to explore the Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes, beautiful beaches, vineyards, micro breweries, arts and crafts.
