Overlooking Loch Tay, our waterfront holiday home is in an exclusive location and dream setting. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain and loch views, and endless possibilities to enjoy the great outdoors. Step out onto miles of nature trails, sporting and wellness activities, or just relax in the pretty gardens or get cosy beside the fire. Our cottage is perfect for those who want to get away from it all, yet in the heart of a pretty little conservation village with handful of shops and eateries. The space Our historic cottage is a much-loved holiday home and peaceful retreat and is best suited to couples, families and multi-generational groups but is not suited to those who wish to party. The space Our charming holiday house, which is a B-listed property of historical significance, has been sympathetically restored over the years and now offers spacious, comfortable and modern holiday accommodation in a peaceful yet convenient village setting. The cottage sits in large established gardens that extend down to the water's edge. With mountains, hills, and loch waters all around, take time to just relax and recharge. For water-based activities, there are various opportunities directly on the loch, including kayaking/canoeing, sailing/boating, loch cruise, inflatables, water skiing, and cold water swimming. In addition, there is an award-winning wild spa with floating sauna, steam, hot tub and other wonderful facilities a 10-minute walk away. For, more adventurous activities, head to the nearest town of Aberfeldy (5-10 minute drive) where you can arrange white-water rafting and canyoning. Those who enjoy the great outdoors have miles of marked and maintained walking and cycling routes to enjoy in the area. First Floor The holiday home comfortably sleeps 8, with: - 1 super-king size master bedroom with ensuite bath and shower room, and balcony with loch and mountain views - 1 super-king bedroom (can be converted to a twin room with prior notification) with ensuite shower room - 1 king bedroom with ensuite shower room - 1 twin room (can be converted to a super-king room with prior notification) sole use of family bathroom. An additional children's z-bed is available on request, to accommodate nine guests. The family bathroom has a large bath and separate enclosed shower. Ground floor There is a large, newly refurbished kitchen/diner with island, and dining area that seats 10. Kitchen includes two integrated Neff ovens, Neff microwave and an induction hob. An American-style fridge freezer with ice dispenser and wall units provide plenty of storage. There is a separate window seat with views across the loch, river and mountains, perfect for a lazy afternoon reading. The spacious living room with wonderful views out to the loch and river comfortably seats 8 and has a newly installed woodfired log burner. Patio doors lead onto the outside seating area for alfresco dining. A separate snug room with sofa (can also double up as an office or playroom) has a TV and a selection of books and board games offering maximum flexibility. The house has its own separate cold larder room, plus utility with washer/dryer and Belfast sink. The large single garage provides plenty of storage for any sports equipment you may want to bring. Downstairs WC and enclosed entrance porch complete the layout. Outside With two sets of garden furniture (a dining table seating 8 and a smaller dining set for 6) a charcoal BBQ, and fire pit, you can make the most of the stunning views from the garden and enjoy some alfresco dining. Within walking distance There are a small number of shops and eateries, including a delicatessen/gift shop and cafe at Mains of Taymouth, which sells wonderful ice creams, fresh coffee and bakery goods as well as a wide selection of foods and drink! A newly opened luxury deli in the village centre provides a second option for delicious foods and luxury gifts. There are also two excellent restaurants and a well-maintained 9-hole golf course with beautiful views. Other local attractions, still within walking distance, but a little further away around the bay, include the unique Taymouth Marina waterside spa resort and watersports centre with restaurant. The spa experience is not to be missed! It has a newly open floating sauna (yes, you read that right) and all sorts of other lovely wellness facilities. Take a sauna, Turkish steam or relax in the bubbling, steaming waters of the Hotbox spa overlooking the beautiful mountains and loch. The bravehearted can cool off using the slide into the loch but don't forget to hold your nose! The Marina also has a wonderful restaurant and bar overlooking the loch and a watersports centre (with small inflatable waterpark), pedalo hire, boat hire, kayak & canoe hire and bike hire. The Marina Spa and facilities are incredibly popular so please book in advance so as not to be disappointed. Loch leisure cruises, Taymouth Castle estate and a childrens' play park with slide, swings, zip line and astro pitch are within walking distance - great for a family football match! Kenmore also has its own well maintained village beach where visitors can enjoy the clean, shallow waters of the bay - usually a little warmer than the deeper waters further out. Take the car On the road towards Killin, about a mile out of Kenmore village, you will find The Crannog Visitor Centre, newly built with loads to do for children and adults. The local walks and bike routes are varied and extensive and you have guaranteed beautiful views whichever way you choose to go. Route maps are available at the Mains of Taymouth or online. A five minute drive towards Dull will bring you to Highland Safaris & Red Deer Visitor Centre. Get up close and feed the deer or take a trip up into the hills around Aberfeldy. The centre also has a gold panning experience, younger children's play area, and other adventure activities, such as archery and axe throwing. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in the lovely café with gift shop. Castle Menzies is a few minutes from here and holds regular “Ghost Tours”. Aberfeldy town (10 mins drive) In Aberfeldy, you can book a number of white water rafting experiences, kayaking, paddleboarding, canyonning, gorge walking and mountain bike trips You can also visit the nine hole Aberfeldy Golf Course or pitch and put golf, or enjoy the adventure park with a wide range of children's swings, slides and rides etc. Aberfeldy has a mid-size Coop supermarket, an award-winning butcher and bakery, a deli, the Birks cinema, public swimming pool, The Watermill coffee shop, book shop and art gallery, as well as a handful of independent shops. For adults only, Dewars World of Whisky has a vistor centre and offers whisky tours and tasting. Other things to note The loch, river and two local roads close to the property are not fenced so children and dogs should be supervised at all times in the large garden area. The log stove in the lounge and the stairs are not gated or guarded. Guest access As a guest you will have access to the whole property. Other things to note To keep our holiday home at its best for all our guests, we do not advertise or accept bookings from Hen or Stag parties or similar groups and we will have no hesitation in asking you to leave the property should we receive a complaint. The loch, river and two local roads close to the property are not fenced so children and dogs may need supervision. The log stove in the lounge and the stairs are not gated or guarded. We provide wood, kindling and firelighters for the stove in the lounge and for the firepit and charcoal is available for the barbeque so you can arrive and know everything is ready for you to relax. If you are ordering a food delivery on your first day of arrival, please ensure it doesn't arrive until after the 4pm check in time. Access can't be provided until after this time to give our cleaners enough time to thoroughly clean our home to a high standard. Registration details PK12075F
