The Granary, Bakers Mill Farm

The Granary is one of our cottages for couples, cosy and intimate this cottage has been renovated from our old farm buildings retaining old beams to give it plenty of character. It is situated in a courtyard with our 5 other cottages so we can sleep 21 in total. The cottages are nestled within an organic cattle farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Axe valley in West Dorset, a lush green valley surrounded by low hills. The area is full of wildlife and birdsong. The space The Granary has a low ceilinged sitting room with dining table, vaulted ceiling kitchen with full size oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, and a washing machine. The shower room is downstairs and upstairs a king size sleigh bed in the bedroom with fire access to outside down a staircase. Outside is a picnic table next to the rill. BBQ. Sun loungers are available from the Games room for use in the shared garden at the back of the cottage. Although very rural there is a shop in the village about a mile away and a lovely old pub who are happy to do take away meals too. We are about 20 minutes drive from the coast with plenty of historic old market towns in the area and beautiful gardens and panoramic views to explore. Guest access The Granary is situated in a courtyard where you can park outside to unload and then leave your car across the courtyard by the shrubbery. Besides the other cottages there is also a Games room with snooker, table tennis and darts, books, jigsaws and leaflets of the area. Off the Games room is a laundry room with tumble drier and ironing facilities. We have our own coarse fishing lakes a couple of miles along the country lane for your use if desired. Other things to note There are 5 other cottages on site and 3 families live on the farm, which is a working farm. The families are all very quiet. Baggins, a dog, lives in one of the houses on the farm and roams around at will, and there are a few farm cats although they are very elusive.
