“Vandy’s Place” 3 bed house central Yackandandah

Welcome to “Vandy’s Place”, an original 1950s post war colonial home being lovingly restored. Situated in the very centre of picturesque Yackandandah, just off Main Street, you can explore all the beautiful town has to offer. Less than 2 min walk to supermarket, two hotels, swimming pool, community garden, restaurants, bakery & more. You will have the entire home to yourself so you can truly relax. The space This beautiful old house has sheltered 4 generations of my family and is currently being restored to retain its original character and charm. “Vandy”, my grandmother lived in the house for over 60 years, and was well known for standing at her gate speaking to everyone passing her central location. The house features a big front verandah enclosed with plantation shutters for privacy. The main bedroom has a king size four poster bed with a mattress so comfortable you won’t want to leave. Second bedroom is beautifully set out with shabby chic class - contains a Queen bed. The 3rd bedroom is off the kitchen / lounge and is setup as a library or sitting room. This contains a lounge / sofa bed that can be converted to a Queen bed upon request. There is WiFi, a wood fire (wood is supplied), 2 split systems and heaters in each room, electric blankets on beds, a light filled bathroom complete with shower and bath, an elegant and functional kitchen including a Blanco oven with rotisserie. Quality Linen, including towels and basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, hand wash), basic condiments (variety of sauces, olive oil, vinegars, salt and pepper, coffee, tea varieties, sugar) and washing facilities are all supplied. Please note: this space is ideally setup for a maximum of 6 adults - bed 3 is setup as a sitting room however converts to a queen sofa bed upon request. The third bed will not be made up for bookings of 4 or less - unless requested. I have a spare camp mattresses for larger groups but I will not accept bookings of more than 6 guests without being contacted first so I can make sure I can cater to your group requirements prior to accepting the booking. There is room in the driveway for 3 cars or more. This house is being slowly restored and I work on it between guests. Most of the restoration is complete, however you will notice there are still things I'm working on - some parts of the outside still require painting, the studio out the back is not yet complete, there is more paving to come, a pergola and garage still to build. If you want perfection this is not the house for you. If you like original and vintage and don't mind visiting an old house being slowly transformed - then I welcome you and hope you will enjoy staying at Vandy's Place. Guest access Entire place to yourself. Other things to note The house has two main bedrooms. The third room is setup as a sitting room and the sofa bed is made up only if requested. A portacot with bedding is also available. The laundry facilities has washing machine, ironing board and iron. Walking and rail trails scatter the region for biking enthusiasts there is Yack Tracks. Art galleries, museums, vintage shops and delicious local food at your doorstep.
