Description
Here's your chance to experience an authentic "hytte". The cabin is located on the outskirts of a popular area called Sjusjøen, overlooking the beautiful lake "Kroksjoen". In the winter, you can start you cross-country skiing trip right outside the door. You'll find the trails less than 100 meters away. The cabin has no running water, but there is electricity and a fireplace so you'll stay warm and comfortable. See pictures and descriptions to get an impression, and feel free to ask questions! The space Our cabin dating from the 1960s has been in my family since my grandparents bought it in 1965. My sister and I inherited it from our father, and have maintained it in a vintage style while also investing in a few upgrades. This is a very important place to us, but we are happy to share it with respectful guests. This is not the cheapest place to maintain and we do repairs every year, so we hope our guests will appreciate the simple life, old school experience and beautiful scenery year round. Be aware that there is no running water, hence no water closet toilet. We have an electric incineraiting toilet in the cabin. And there is an extra dry toilet (compost style) in the outhouse as a backup. Other things to note There is no water or sewer, but you can easily fill up on water from a pump about 100 meters down the road. There are jugs and a wheelbarrow for you to use. You should know how to use a fireplace, but there will be tips in the cabin manual. There is a Cinderella incinerator toilet (forbrenningsdo) indoors. We also have a backup toilet (porta potty style) in the shed. We ask our guests to take with them all food and trash, and to wipe the countertops and tables with a wet cloth/kitchen paper. And please vacuum or sweep the kitchen if (and only if) needed. This is to keep mice away although mice hasn't been a problem at all yet. You can either bring a sleeping bag or sleeping bag liner, or feel free to use the sheets provided. There are towels for you as well.
