The Lookout

The Lookout is a stand alone guest cabin located on an elevated private 10 acre property just 5 minutes drive to Cooks Beach. Situated next to regenerating bush, it offers views through to Mercury Bay Winery, the Purangi Estuary & beyond to Mercury Bay itself. Entirely self contained, The Lookout is lined with warm natural timbers and has a comfortable queen size bed. It also has a private deck area perfect for morning coffees, BBQs, stargazing and bird watching. The space The Lookout is fully equipped with everything you'll need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. We offer tea and coffee (plunger), sugar, fresh milk, and some basic breakfast and pantry supplies. The Lookout has a Webber BBQ on the deck - great for cooking a meal while watching the evening light fade over the village. There is also a portable single burner induction benchtop cooker as well as a benchtop convection/ microwave oven. Enjoy the peace and quiet, the bird song and the amazing night sky from your deck. Guest access The Lookout is very private with easy access. You can park on the lawn in front of the cabin with access through the sliding doors on the deck. Other things to note The Lookout is an ideal getaway spot for a couple but we have set it up to cater for four (crockery, cutlery, etc) in terms of cooking and dining, just in case you want to have friends come for a BBQ. We also have a portacot and a high chair if needed for a baby/toddler. We also like sharing our seasonal produce; citrus, assorted fruit, greens and veggies when they are available with our guests.
