Description

Cozy double room with private bathroom in the Stone Oven House art residency. The residency is housed in a restored farmhouse with a rich and unique history. Artists from all over the world come here to work on their projects, allowing you to witness the creative process and interact with the creators. Additionally, you can enjoy incredible mountain views, bathe in waterfalls, and try authentic homemade food and organic wine. We are happy to share our table with you. Welcome! The space Your room is quite small but carefully designed and build by artists. It has everything for a comfort stay. You can also enjoy all the common areas such as the park, garden, kitchen, hot tub, and visit other parts of the property. The house is part of the old Vernarea estate, which includes several buildings and two hectares of land with a stream, woods, terraces, vegetable gardens and areas for work and leisure. It is now known as the Stone Oven House Art Residency. We offer artists, writers and other creative people from all over the world the opportunity to work on their projects, with accommodation and space to create. As well as artists, we welcome people interested in the mountains, nature, art, culture and socialising. In addition to the house, you will have access to other spaces on the estate. It is also important to understand that there will be other guests, visiting artists and our family on the property. This will not interfere with your private holiday: you will always have the opportunity to be alone with your loved ones either in the house or on any of the outdoor terraces. Note: We can organise accommodation for up to 12 people. However, in this case the living room will be used as a bedroom, so it will be difficult to get everyone in the same room. The kitchen is quite small. The table can comfortably seat up to six people. However, you can make use of the communal kitchens in the neighbouring house, as well as other rooms, both outside and indoors. Don't hesitate to ask, we can explain everything in more detail. We can also accommodate more than 12 people if there are rooms available in other houses on the estate. Write to us and we will arrange everything. Guest access In addition to your house, other areas of the residence are at your disposal: self-service bar, kitchen, outdoor kitchen, balconies, terraces, gardens, open loft, galleries and artists' studios. There are many cosy corners where you can hide to work or relax. There is an old stone oven. Let us know in advance if you would like to try it. It takes some time to prepare. We usually light it every two or three weeks. In the oven we can cook pizza, bread, meat and all kinds of dishes. You can come and cook with us. All the green areas are at your disposal. You can set up your hammock in the garden, you can walk in the woods, there is a huge field with a panoramic view. Feel free to make a BBQ on our terrace. Let us know if you need any other tools or rooms. If you want to organise a birthday party or any other celebration, you can also invite your friends, we'll give you information about the other rooms available. During your stay Stone Oven House is not just a guesthouse. First and foremost, it is an art residency, created to inspire, support and network artists. But first and foremost, it is our family home, where we live all year round: Sergei, Claudia and our children: Yara, four years old, and the very young Theo. The number of guests on the estate varies according to the season and activities. In summer there are usually more guests. But there are also quiet days throughout the year when there is almost no one here. Either way, you will always find us here. Everything you see around you has been restored and built by our hands and the hands of our friends and helpers who help us make our dream a reality. By the way, all our guests have the opportunity to join us for a day as one of our helpers - a chance to save money while travelling, gain new experiences and learn new skills. We will continue to renovate the property over the years, but don't worry, we won't wake you up with a jackhammer. We always tidy up before guests arrive and suspend any work that might interfere with a quality and relaxing holiday. Every new guest is a little holiday for us. But every lunch and dinner here is also a little holiday. We try to live each day in such a way that it is filled with beauty, no matter what is happening in the world. This does not mean that we are indifferent to the current problems of humanity. On the contrary, we are not only concerned about the ongoing wars, disasters and crimes against humanity, but we also have our own views, which we share at the events and exhibitions we organise. However, it is very important for us to maintain a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, free from intrusiveness and inappropriate arguments. We pay great attention to lighting, sound, cleanliness, order and other factors that allow you to relax and feel at home from the very first minutes of your stay with us. We do not insist, but invite all guests to join us for lunch and dinner. This is not included in the price, but you are welcome to bring something to the table or leave a free offer. We love to cook and have travelled the world studying the cuisines of different countries. So, as well as classic Italian dishes, you can try Chinese, Indian, Thai, Russian, French, South American.... And of course the best Italian wines from local producers! We can also recommend great restaurants and inexpensive but very tasty trattorias in the area. Other things to note Please remember that this is a rural house surrounded by mountains. There is automatic heating in your house, but we use firewood to heat the communal areas. So if you wake up early in the winter you may find the communal kitchen a bit frozen. You are welcome to use the stoves and fireplaces, but make sure you are experienced with them. This is not the only difference to the city. We started renovating this house seven years ago with no budget and minimal knowledge. We have learnt a lot over the years and we are still learning. We can tell you about it. The renovation is not complete. From time to time we have to close the access to our Airbnb listings because of work. Sometimes work continues even when guests are present. We do our best to ensure that this does not interfere with your holiday. We will not make noise with a jackhammer or lawnmower under your window. But if you see a cement mixer lurking around the corner, don't be alarmed - it's just a cement mixer. And sometimes you can hear the sounds of the village: a tractor running, a chainsaw rumbling, etc. It's still a living village, with living farmers and workers. That's why we love this place. In summer, local shepherds bring their cows to graze in our meadows. In return we get the best cheese and fresh milk on our table. But the cows bring flies. We fight them as best we can, but it is impossible to get rid of this peculiarity of village life. Just as it is impossible to get rid of other insects. We try not to use too many strong chemicals. What is important to us is the air we breathe and the water we drink. We also have bee hives. The bees are not a nuisance, on the contrary, they produce delicious honey which we are happy to share with you. If you like it, you can take it home with you. There are also wild animals in the area. They are not aggressive but they can make some strange noises. There are no tourist attractions like useless souvenir shops with magnets. If you see strange smoke in the forest, don't be afraid. We're at an altitude of 900 metres above sea level. If you see strange lights at night, they're probably fireflies. They are not dangerous, just beautiful. That strange trail in the night sky is not pollution, it's called the Milky Way, it's our galaxy. Registration Details IT001226C2TAP9BKVF
