Made famous by the Australian television series 'River Cottage Australia' this beautiful homestead is set on rolling green hills and is located on the NSW South Coast near the National Trust Village of Central Tilba. River Cottage Farm Stay is a destination for all. We welcome visitors from near and far but our secret is that we give our guests an experience that leaves them coming back for more! The space Tastefully restored with a refreshed interior the cottage has been furnished to suit holiday makers, peace seekers and locavores. Each bedroom has been made up with crisp white bed linen accompanied with fluffy white towels to add to the country-lux experience. For enthusiastic home cooks the kitchen will not disappoint; bake jam drops and scones to your hearts content and finish them off with a dollop of fresh double cream from the Tilba ABC Cheese Factory just down the road...yum! Guest access Guests have full access to the homestead, surrounding lawns and garden within the inner fence line. Other things to note EXCLUSIVE USE POLICY Guests have exclusive use of the homestead and surrounding lawn only. Guests must be aware that work to the land or outbuildings may occur during a guests stay. Lawn mowing and garden maintenance may occur by professional contractors during a guest's stay. CHANGE OF DATE / CANCELLATION POLICY River Cottage will only allow change of dates in the case of full lockdown, bushfire threat or a guest being infected with the COVID-19 virus. Each of the options above require review by AirBnb as the third party to verify the facts of the situation. River Cottage has a ‘Strict AirBnb Policy’ in place to protect the interests of the business because allowing guests to have full flexibility to change dates would result in future loss of revenue. River Cottage aims to have a 'reasonable and fair' agreement with our guests to ensure that both interests of the business and guests are maintained. Generally we are guided by NSW Health to determine whether a reservation can go ahead or not but we do look at each reservation case by case to determine finer details. In regards to cancellation River Cottage follows the terms set out by AirBnb. PEST CONTROL POLICY River Cottage conducts routine maintenance for pest control, this involves biannual external surface spraying to reduce insects entering the cottage. However this treatment is not 100% and every now an again we do find them inside. Most insects are harmless and can be killed with bug spray which is also provided. Please note that being on a farm the chances of crossing paths with an insect is more likely than in metropolitan areas. Snakes are occasionally seen at the cottage, in town or in the surrounding Tilba area. Please understand that we are living in their territory and occasionally they may pass through. At River Cottage we make all attempts to maintain a clean and tidy property so as to reduce the chances of a snake finding a home. The grass around the cottage is also kept short to help with preventing hiding spots. RIVER COTTAGE PET POLICY River Cottage is pet friendly however we do have some house rules to ensure bringing your dog does not impact the cottage. Everyday you will need to pickup after your dog on the lawn surrounding the house; just so the guests staying after you don’t step in anything unexpected. You are to collect the waste and dispose of in a council bin after your stay. No animals are allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms. No fur is to be left in the house to reduce the chance of any future guests having an allergic reaction to dogs. A vacuum is provided in the laundry. I suggest you bring your dog’s bed and set it up on the back balcony/laundry which is undercover. You are held responsible for your dog/s at all times. They must not approach any livestock or horses...these animals are not accustom to domestic pets. Please also be aware that snakes are around River Cottage and the Tilba area; anti-venom is expensive and getting to a veterinary clinic can take up to 60min. Any accident as a result of your dog/s you will be held liable for. ADDITIONAL HOUSE RULES 1 ) Guests must maintain all gates to the property are closed to ensure roaming cattle are kept within the confines of the property. (The exception to this rule is the gate at the brick building where livestock are allowed to pass - guests must not pass at this point). 2) Guests must not 'explore' beyond the marked signs to avoid trespassing on neighbouring properties. In addition to the marked signs please stay within the barbed wire fence line and do not pass through the gate next to the brick building. 3) Lighting external fires on the property is prohibited and will be reported to the host if detected by the neighbors. If an external fire is lit this will result in the rural fire service being called to put out the fire and will result in the forfeit of the security deposit...no exceptions. 4) For guests safety, please do not enter any out-buildings located on the property. This included the silos, the 'leaning' timber framed building, the brick building. 5) Do not climb up any trees or ontop of any water tanks. 6) Upon checkout please clean and put away any used kitchenware, cutlery, crockery, utensils. 7) If any damage occurs please report it to the host immediately so that a remedy can be arranged in time for the next guest's arrival. This includes damage to the house directly or to household items like glassware/plates, or spills or stains. 8) Guest's must ensure all window and doors are closed and locked upon checkout. 9) Water is monitored on the property due to rain water harvesting and tank retention systems. Please do not use excessive amounts of water and please ensure all taps are completely turned off to ensure no water wastage. 10) Waste is to be sort in the bins provided in the kitchen. Food waste is strictly not to be disposed of with the general waste....this must be put in the zip lock bag provided, refrigerated and taken with the guest on departure. Excess recycling may be taken to the recycling room located in the garage. 11) The 2 house keys are returned to the key safe on departure. Registration Details PID-STRA-621
