Guesthouse in Vashon

Vashon Island is a beautiful, enchanting place and our guest cottage is in a uniquely gorgeous spot. Nestled above the water on a high bluff, the view literally takes your breath away; Puget Sound, Cascade mountains and sunrises that astound. It may be hard to believe an island paradise is so close to two major cities, but time seems to have stopped on Vashon. It's a magical place; come visit and let the spell work on you! The space The cottage is near the bottom of a wooded, dead-end road. Kitty corner from our house, the view out the front windows is unimpeded by the house, yet close enough to stop by if you have any needs, questions or just want to say hi. Access to the rocky beach below is a short walk down the road. Bald eagles and Osprey regularly soar by, seals call, and occasionally a pod of orcas will bound through the passage. The cottage is beautifully built with wood everywhere, cathedral ceilings, large windows, skylights and a peaceful feel. Make a cup of tea and sit by the fire as you watch the boats drift by. All the comforts of home are here to make your stay relaxing - and even romantic! After a soak in the beautifully tiled tub, nestle into the plush queen bed fitted with the award winning Avocado Green mattress, soft, 100% cotton sheets with high thread-counts and a luxurious down comforter. Gaze out across the sound to the Cascade Mountains from bed, and you might never want to get up! Outdoors there is a little bistro table and chairs, a glider bench (shared with our house) and greenery all around. The cottage radiates a rustic and inviting warmth which permeates your being; the perfect place for a writers retreat or relaxing, romantic getaway. Guest access Guests have the cottage completely to themselves, and are free to share the yard with us. The yard is right in front of the cottage, and has a garden, benches and wonderful views. Guests should be aware that we use the yard to spend time in, garden and enjoy. If you want to be assured of complete privacy, you'll need to draw the curtains. Other things to note We have a lovely garden with motion activated sprinklers to keep deer away. Stay on the outside of the sprinklers unless you want a shower :-).
