Description

Truly a Mountain Retreat. Come stay in the Master Suite on the main level of a 3BR 3B with natural white pine walls & hardwood floors throughout. I've really enjoyed sharing the rest of the 2,800sq feet + deck and porches with guests and my friendly pup Ruger. Added bonus, there is a tiny barbecue restaurant/bottle shop at the end of the driveway with picnic tables under the pines! This listing is accurate, current, comfortable, and clean. Come visit (and feel free to bring your pets). The space Although the space is listed as a single room, you're actually getting a 2,800sq foot 2 story home that has been beautifully finished with natural white pine walls and hardwood floors throughout. I live in a bedroom suite upstairs with my friendly pup Ruger. There's also a ping pong table and a set of tables and chairs we break out for large group meals, weather permitting. I live in a bedroom suite upstairs and rent the 2 bedrooms on the main floor. I am self-employed and I do often work from my home office upstairs; but I'm glad to share the house with guests and happy to be a local resource for advice and recommendations. Because I own a property management and concierge business on Lake Burton, I know a lot about the area, and can even facilitate a number of things through my company at our normal rates. If you would like a driver to take you to Helen or to a wine tasting, I can arrange that. If you would like a private chef during your stay, or just want to know what the local area offers, or have something specific in mind, please don't hesitate to ask. I am always only a phone call or text away. Whether I'm home or out and about, if you need anything, please reach out and I'll reply as quickly as I can. If you haven't visited the smokey mountains in Northeast Georgia, specifically the rolling foothills of the Appalachians, you're in for a treat. You are so far away but yet so close to so many things. From Lake days, to the Appalachian Trail, to white water rafting and antiquing, Lake Burton and the surrounding areas are truly paradise for the outdoors enthusiast. This part of the world has a lot to offer for just about anyone looking to get away and explore for a few days: • World class trout fishing • International award-winning vineyards and wineries • Gorgeous fall foliage and beautiful drives • No shortage of water sports and leisure activities on the lake • Campgrounds, hiking trails, and waterfalls • Outstanding southern cuisine and farm to table acclaim • Public and private golf courses • Drive-in movies • Octoberfest in Helen, GA • Hand-crafted artisan heirlooms • Antique markets I love this place, in part because of my heritage. In the 40's my grandfathers knew each other as bachelors pioneering Lake Burton. One built a cabin on the main basin & the other chose a secluded cove, which probably says a bit about their personalities. My mother was a South Florida girl who met and fell in love with my father, a young man from Atlanta. They met as teenagers on Lake Burton. She went to UNC to study communication & he got his business degree from Georgia Tech. Despite 2 Dear John letters, they kept coming back to the lake and back to each other and finally got married. You see, I owe my existence to this beautiful place I get to call home. As for me, I'm 30 years old, an Auburn Alum and I own Kingfisher Concierge & Property Management LLC—a company I started to help facilitate "Lake Life, As It Should Be." Sharing my own experience and love for this area only made sense. Honestly, the air is so crisp and clean up here in the mountains that sitting on a porch and doing nothing whatsoever is well worth the trip. No matter how you spend your time, you will leave refreshed. Lake Burton and the surrounding area is pretty easy to navigate in a car or truck. The only occasions when 4 wheel drive would be recommended would be during the winter months, because of snow and ice, or if you intend to do some trail riding or hiking up any of the old logging roads that get pretty muddy. We're far enough out of any metropolitan area that there aren't any public forms of transportation or ride sharing options like uber or lyft. Ideally, any sort of motorboat or pontoon boat, that's under 28 feet long and does not have a cabin or head, is the ultimate vehicle to explore the lake. You can rent both at either of the local marinas; but you will want to do so in advance, as their rental fleets are limited and demand is high. I have a pup who is the friendliest animal in the world to be around. His name is Ruger and he will be in and out of the house as I am. If you have a dog, you're welcome to let them run in the fully fenced in backyard! A word of disclaimer: Ruger is very friendly and mild mannered and gets along well with dogs and cats. If your pet does not get along with mine for any reason, you must be willing to keep your pet locked in the Master Suite or on the screened porch, which opens to the backyard. Guest access Guests are allowed access to the whole house and adjacent premises with the exception of the other bedrooms, the upstairs office, and the workshop garage. Everything else is considered Common Space. In fact, many guests wander to the end of the driveway and relax on the picnic tables at the tiny barbecue restaurant/bottle shop.
