This house has been the host to many of our family memories and is such a serene, beautiful and healing place to stay. Located only 100m from the Challaborough seafront and a 5 minute walk from Bigbury on sea it is ideally located for anyone who wants convenient access to the beach. Close proximity to Burgh island, a tidal island, is a highlight and offers a beautiful view and fantastic pub whether you choose to walk, wade, paddle board or get the sea tractor back. This contemporary coastal home sleeps 8 people in 4 large bedrooms on the ground floor. The primary bedroom is an ensuite double bedroom with a walk-in shower. The other 3 rooms share a large family bathroom equipped with bathtub and shower. The remaining rooms can be made up to your requirements with 2 twin rooms and one room with a daybed that can be made into either a single or double. There is also desk space and wifi available in the rooms for anyone who needs to work during their stay. Stairs lead up to an open plan living space which has a fully equipped kitchen, with a washer and drier, a dining room and a lounge. The large patio doors open up off of the back of the dining room onto a large sunny patio with a table and chairs and many potted plants. The garden goes up the stairs from the patio and is grassed often with lots of local wildflowers blooming and has a great sea view. Parking is available for 2 cars outside the house and further parking is available, please contact us if this is required. The property is best accessed by car but is also a 40 min taxi from Totnes a fantastic local market town, with regular trains from London, with lots of nice shops and cafes. Access to the property is via a secure pedestrian gate or a secure electronic gate entrance to the site of 12 modern and beautiful properties. After a day at the beach there is a convenient outdoor shower to wash off any sand just by the pedestrian gate on the way home. There are lots of great local pubs, beaches and hiking trails so be sure to message if you’re in need of any recommendations. Challaborough beach is a clean, sandy, surfers beach which often has beautiful sunsets. If keen on surfing there is a fabulous local surf school (Discovery surf) which can also provide rental paddle and surf boards as well as lessons for all levels, if you need any help with booking please let us know and we can arrange this. Guest access Whole house available, garden, patio with garden furniture and potted plants. No dogs allowed on grassed area and must be supervised on a lead on the rest of site at ALL times. Access to rooftop terrace is not possible for safety reasons. Other things to note All guests may use the pedestrian side gate which is only about 100m from the sea front car park. Max 2 cars allowed to park on driveway at house, entrance to the driveway is 200m away from the house via an electronic gate. Due to our proximity to Parkdean caravan site, we do have views of the site. We shield ourselves with full blinds at the windows whilst we wait for our trees to grow ! 8 person maximum in the house. One well behaved dog is OK but MUST be on a lead on the site at all times and MUST NOT be allowed on furniture or on the neighbours' grass at the back of the house. Strict rules re garbage disposal. Please note, an additional fee min of £10 may be charged if garbage not sorted from recycling as this creates extra work for housekeeping.
