Noss Mayo Yurt, rural, river, tennis
Description
Located in beautiful Tamar Valley on the Cornwall / Devon boarder, this spacious authentic 'off grid' yurt set in a traditional gently sloping meadow is in a rural location overlooking the river and a Nature Reserve. Inside has a king sized bed and log burner. Outside, relax in rustic seating around a fire pit. A modern shared bathroom is located a short walk away and a shared rustic field kitchen with under cover cooking facilities. A compost loo is also available nearer yurts. The space Set in over 40 acres of grounds there is plenty of space to explore including River Tamar frontage with a private shingle tidal beach, woodland, Salt Marsh Nature Reserve and orchard with a tennis court (a selection of rackets and balls are available) if you are feeling active! There is also a games room with table tennis and a selection of board games / jigsaws / books / magazines that you can borrow. Plus outdoor heated swimming pool (open seasonally). The farm is in a rural location and managed for wildlife and the place buzzes with birds, deer, badgers and more. Access to the river where you can wild swim (tide dependant!) or just sit and watch the birds live. Options for walks from your door and further afield (Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and South Coastal Path are all within 20 - 30 minutes drive away). If you do feel like leaving the farm, there are good pubs and restaurants nearby, beaches, off road cycling paths and plenty of other activities. There is a second yurt in the meadow which is set a good distance apart and a third yurt set in an adjacent meadow. Internal lighting is solar powered on a rechargeable battery. This also allows the recharging of a phone / tablet as well on all but the cloudiest of days! The Boot room and Games room have plenty of power sockets for charging devices if needed. To keep the yurt warm and cosy there is a log burner. However, as this is a fully insulated yurt it retains heat well overnight. We provide a box of logs for your stay, with additional available from the honesty shop. There is a small honesty shop for fresh eggs from our ducks and chickens and apple juice from our orchard. We also normally have some veg grown sustainably at the farm available and if you're lucky some delicious honey from our hard working bee's. There are a number of bookable experiences and treats here at Lower Marsh Farm including private wild food foraging workshops, stand-up paddle board tuition, afternoon tea, suppers and more. An EV charger is available at the farm (request a tag when booking and you will be charged for the amount of electricity used at the end of your stay). Please note that dogs are not to be left unattended in your yurt at any time. Guest access A modern shared bathroom is conveniently located a short walk away. As is a shared rustic field kitchen with under cover cooking / dining facilities. Other things to note There are steep uneven steps between the bathroom and utility room (where washing up facilities are located) and the meadow where the yurts are located. Some lighting is present on the route but you should bring a torch. We can help carry your luggage up to the yurt on arrival and departure if needed. There will be other guests at the farm as there are also 3 holiday lets. This is a NO SMOKING property either in the yurt or in the grounds. The same applies to vaping.
