Casa Javier is a small but very special house in which the original elements of a typical fisherman’s home – wooden beams and stone staircase among others – serve as a background to a contained but sophisticated refurbishment scheme carried out by a prestigious Spanish architect in the mid-1950s. The space The house recently underwent a renovation which has restored all of the historical architectural elements paying particular attention to bringing the kitchen and bathrooms up to today’s standards with new appliances and lighting on the one hand and upgrading the level of confort in the living area and bedrooms. The 100m2 two-storey house has two double en-suite bedrooms to accommodate four guests but can additionally sleep 5 people (with an extra single divan-bed in the large living room). The ground floor consists of an entry vestibule, a bedroom and bathroom, and a dining room and kitchen. The kitchen has a modern induction hob and full-size electric oven as well as a new dishwasher while still retaining its traditional tiles and cabinets. The large and airy upper floor living room has a high-ceiling exposed beam ceiling from which one accesses the second bedroom and bathroom. This bathroom is fitted out with a new washing machine and dryer. An observation should be made regarding the existing staircase which is not protected by a balustered stair rail due to its special historic architectural qualities. The house is located in Cadaques’ historic old town on a characteristic slate-cobbled street just a two-minute walk to the sea and the central ‘Passeig’ plaça, close to restaurants and other services. Ideal for couples or small family. Not recommended for disabled people or very small children because of the unsafe stairs. Other things to note Both the bedroom have 2 single beds which can be put into double beds! Please respect , Inside the house it is forbidden to smoke !
