Our eco-friendly lodge is in a pristine mountain setting on 38 acres in Hope Valley, California, one of the most gorgeous natural landscapes in the Sierras. In the winter, we'll bring you to the lodge over the snow in a snowcat! From the lodge you can hike, kayak, fish, bikeride, snowshoe, ski, snowmobile or admire fall colors of the aspens. The space One of four available bedrooms, COWBOY ROOM is a spacious yet cozy private room that has a western feel with hay bails, saddle and cowboy boots as part of the decor. Enjoy the comfort of the comfortable queen bed, hand crafted writing table, and the convenience of a full closet. This room has lots of windows and roof angles which makes it inviting. Right next to the bedroom is a large bathroom with two sinks, toilet and tub/shower combination shared only with ALPENGLOW ROOM guest(s). These two bedrooms can also be booked together making the bathroom a private bathroom for the 2 rooms. (See separate 2-Bedroom listing under ‘Jean’s Listings’ in my profile.) Our private family-run mountain lodge is eco-friendly, as we generate our power from the sun with battery storage, and heat our water from the sun. All the rooms in our off-grid solar powered rustic lodge/log home are bright and cheery with lots of windows. We can introduce you to amazing alpine lakes and streams and trails nearby for kayaking, fishing, paddle-boarding, hiking or biking. Our goal is for you to feel refreshed and rejuvenated after your stay here in our mountain lodge. In the winter there is a groomed road/trail for cross country skiing, snowmobiling, showshoing or walking. Or make fresh tracks through our snowy meadows! The lodge is located near South Lake Tahoe and is between two epic ski resorts: 12 miles to Kirkwood Mountain Resort, 23 miles to Heavenly Mountain Resort at South Lake Tahoe. Our lodge is a perfect romantic escape for the adventurous, and we look forward to welcoming you to our lodge, and making your stay an unforgettable, unique and authentic experience. (Click on my picture to get into my profile) Guest access The great room on the main floor (with massive granite fireplace and mountain views) is available for you to enjoy in addition to your private room. This is an inviting room where you can snuggle up by the fire in the winter, or socialize with other guests. Our large deck is a popular place for guests to drink their morning coffee or watch the sunset over the mountain. Special arrangements can be made for limited kitchen use. During your stay We love to interact with our guests, but can give you your space too. It just depends on what you want! We are available to help you understand the area and offer suggestions on what you can see or do, and we can tell you what restaurants we recommend too. Other things to note Hope Valley is known for being one of the hidden gems of the Sierras. Note that there are stairs at the house. Ask about bringing your kids along! Great getaway for a couple or multiple couples, or families, as there are 4 private rooms that are individually rented, or 2 room and 5 room combination listings. Ask about renting all the rooms that we rent in the lodge for a stay with your extended family, multiple families or a group of your friends. Discounts are automatically offered for longer stays.
