This lovely ancient cottage is over 200 years old named 'Pen Lon' Pen Lon means top of the lane, but doesn't explain the huge chimney upstairs where the oven would have been. Once a bakery serving 'The Big House' and cottages with their daily bread. Anglesey was once know as the 'Bread Basket of Wales' Just a 20 min drive from the Bridges. and 10 mins to gorgeous sandy beach of Benllech and the chic town of Beaumaris. and the many long stretches of coastline on this beautiful island The space Gingerbread Cottage is a homage to the fact that it was once an old bakery ...built on gingerbread crumbs and crusts - Our children called it by this name and its stuck. The living room benefits from comfortable seating and a solid fuel burning stove making the room warm, and cosy on chilly nights. It also features a TV for an enjoyable, relaxing evening. WIFI is now connected throughout the cottage. There is a downstairs dining room to seat 6 people and a separate, fully fitted kitchen. The kitchen contains a large fridge and a smaller freezer. There is a clothes washer/dryer in the kitchen A Nespresso coffee machine and a coffee percolator; you do need to bring your own choice of coffee pods for the Nespresso machine, we provide instant coffee milk and sugar We have a slow cooker in the cupboard - genius if you want dinner ready after a day out! A recently updated bathroom downstairs featuring a walk in shower and toilet downstairs. Downstairs (situated next to the downstairs bathroom) there is a twin bedroom with a hanging clothes rail and a chest of drawers. this room is perfect for guest who find stairs a challenge. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The larger one has a king size bed, two sets of drawers for storage, a window with views over countryside fields. This room has a TV. The second upstairs room has 2 twin beds. and drawers for storage. there is a cupboard with plenty of hanging space at the top of the stairs. A travel cot and high chair are also available, however, bedding for the cot is not provided for health and safety reasons. The cottage has storage heaters throughout, a large private garden, lots of parking and is just a 10 minute drive to the wonderful Benllech beach and the seaside town of Beaumaris. The Gingerbread Cottage is on a quiet country lane with a large private garden with lots of parking space and a lawn for the children and pets to play. The garden is secure for children and reasonably safe for small pets. Guest access Drive along the passage at the right side of the cottage, turn left through the iron gates and you'll see lots of easy parking space. The cottage is yours for the booking period to invite your friends and bring your pets. Access is through the back door, with a key in the safe on the wall oppposite at the back of the kitchen window.
