The unique experiences and the beautiful nature will provide you a refreshing time for your body and mind, and your stay will be totally unforgettable! The space ◇◆ The House You Will Stay ◆◇ The "Kyakuden", spacious traditional Japanese guest room is composed of three large rooms which can accommodate up to eight people. Rooms are separated by fusama (sliding doors), which can be opened up to create one large space according to your needs. There are one private bathroom and two private restrooms. No kitchen is available. ◇◆ The Temple Complex ◆◇ Shoreki-ji consists of the main hall, Kyakuden, dining room, the Goma hall and bamboo forest, and the whole temple complex is reserved JUST FOR YOU! There are parking spaces available for free. Upon arrival, our chief priest will guide to the accommodation and discuss experiences and activities on offer to tailor the stay to your needs. The chief monk and his family are living and working at the temple. Feel free to talk to them for any help and advice in person! Other things to note ※This plan is without meals and Temple Experiences※ ◇◆ Access Information ◆◇ [By car] 10 minutes from Ayabe IC, Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway 10 minutes from Kyotanba-Wachi IC, Kyoto Jukan Expressway [By train] From JR Kyoto Station the Sanin Line to Ayabe Station. From Ayabe station 5 minutes by taxi and 30 minutes on foot. ◇◆ Surroundings ◆◇ Amanohashidate:Under 2 hours by train, approx. 40 minutes by car Amanohashidate means "bridge to heaven," a narrow sandbar covered with around 5,000 pine trees that stretches across Miyazu Bay. ▼ Notes. Some experiences can be added for a fee if you wish. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate you depending on the situation at the temple. Please consult with us on the day. (Eligible experiences: zazen in the bamboo grove, sleeping zazen, morning service, musical instruments) No meals will be provided, so you will have to eat out or prepare your own meals. The nearest supermarket is a 15-minute walk away, so we recommend that you make purchases at Ayabe Station before you arrive.
