Description
A simple, "wild" campsite for those wishing to get away from the trappings of modern day living, whilst situated in an amazingly central Cornish location. Our facilities include composting toilets, hot showers, large communal fire pits with seating (in the meadow and woods) and free fire wood which you can collect with the wheelbarrow from our dedicated wood piles. We have an ancient woodland with trails to explore and search for deer tracks along the river which forms our border! The space Mushroom Meadow is part of a wider 'Nature-Led Plan' for Trefewha Farm. Its borders are left to grow naturally to increase biodiversity and give it that 'rustic' feel. You won't find straight lines in nature and you won't find straight lines here. The toilets are carved out of douglas fir and are placed over a hole in the ground! They are naturally composting - which means instead of flushing, you sprinkle some saw dust after you've done your business! But there is toilet roll and hand sanitiser provided too. The shower is made from conifers which were lopped at the farm and from other items we found in the barns, as well as natural hedging stone for the floor. The large communal fire pit is for the use of everyone. You will find free fire wood next to the entrance of Mushroom Meadow - big piles of it! And a wheelbarrow provided to transport the wood you require. Please just watch out for nails. There is also a smaller communal fire pit in the woods for those feeling adventurous! Please keep this fire especially small due to the sensitivity of your surroundings.
