There are doors with deadbolt locks separating the units for privacy. There are shared entrance foyers in the front and rear so we both have access to the street and the garage. Other things to note The living areas are locked separately (the living room/kitchen and half bath is upstairs and the bedroom and full bath is in the basement with a separate locked door).
