The burrow is your cozy spot in the heart of Matera's Sassi, the perfect place for travellers to relax and be inspired. The space Leave the city behind and emerge yourself in the magic of what makes Matera so special – the historic Sassi where people have lived in caves for centuries. Here you'll find a playful blend of new and traditional with big spaces, floors made of natural materials and high arched ceilings. I love reusing and recycling items, that's why much of my furniture is reworked or vintage pieces. La Tana is a welcoming place to unwind after your adventures especially because you can relax outside in the courtyard on your own little terrace. Since january 2021 L'Albero di Eliana has changed its formula: breakfast is not included anymore but it offers three different types of stay, to suit all budgets: the whole apartment with two rooms and common area, the Nest with living room and kitchen and the Burrow which is only room and courtyard (no access to the kitchen). The Burrow is ideal for travelers who are looking for an "easy" stay in the Sassi and want to try restaurants and cafes around the area. The bedroom is warm (naturally cold in the summer), simple and features two handmade wooden single beds (that can become a double bed) with provisions for extra guests if necessary. The bathroom is simple and nice and the shower is carved in a cave, for a special touch. La Tana has a little terrace facing a typical courtyard, the perfect place to relax at the end of the day listening to the sound of the Sassi and enjoying a glass of wine surrounded by stone walls and coloured plants. Guest access The burrow is has a strategic position which makes easy to reach all the amenities in town. Just few steps away you'll find cafes, restaurants, supermarket, bakery, central market, pharmacy, bank and anything you need to make your trip comfortable. Once you arrive you can park the car and pick it up again when you leave, because everything is at your fingertips, even the most beautiful attractions in town. You should park the car in town and then you'll walk down the b&b for about 500 meters, the distance you need to forget the traffic noise. If necessary you can park the car in the secure parking in via Rocco Scotellaro for a couple of hours to make it easier to transport the luggage. You'll get accurate directions about parking and how to get to my place before you come. During your stay I love to promote sustainable and responsible tourism, that's why I'll be available on the phone or chat for any tip about how to live the best of your experience in Matera. I'll provide tips about shops and restaurants, where to buy local and organic food and how to get around.
