"The Shearers "at Talgarno Park.

The "Shearers Hut" once the shearers lodgings .Has now been fully renovated . With new kitchen ,bathroom ,tv,s ,out door area, inc BBQ ,roof solar power .etc. Breakfast is not included The hut is situated on the banks of Lake Hume with great views and the peacefulness of the country. Also enjoy swimming ,Boating /water sports and walks around our working farm or just read and chill out. 15 min to the Bellbridge store , 25 min to Albury Extra bedding can be arranged The space The Shearers is set amongst mature trees and grass areas for the kids to run around. Relax in the country air and enjoy great views across Lake Hume that change with the seasons. The house is cool inside and you have access to the outdoor area with BBQ and fire pit You also have private access to the lake to fish ,ski, boating ,swim at your leisure. Cod , Redfin, Trout ,Yellow Belly are all present in the lake ,waiting for you to test your fishing talent on them. This a working beef operation so you will see some of the best Angus and Hereford cattle in the district. In the cooler months their is a wood heater in side to cosy up to at night with a glass of red or white wine purchased from the locale winery's. Also a good base to the snow fields . 4X4 ,dirt bike or mountain bike in the near by Granya state Forrest with endless tracks to test your skills So please come visit our beautiful part of the world for 1 night or 12 and enjoy some country hospitality. Guest access You have access to lake with private areas Lawns around the house Walks along tracks on the 1200 acre farm ** confirm with owner due to cattle calving at certain times of year** Other things to note Our farm is a working enterprise so feel free to roam the property but please avoid the cattle they are generally quite but can get protective of their young Please keep clear of the machinery ,hay and work sheds unless told otherwise Please ask me and I can point you in a direction for the best scenic walk or bike ride around the property We have approximately 11 kms of water frontage so you can find a private spot to swim ,fish ,boat /ski or just relax with a picnic. Bike riding is popular on the main road with riders doing the Bethanga loop which takes in some stunning country side and the view from Bethanga lookout looking over the weir wall and Albury Wodonga with 2 shops and a pub to refresh you along the ride. A new winery on the lake road is also worth a visit . Further afield the drive following the mighty Murray river upstream ( Murray River Road) Talgarno to Jingellic /Walwa is rated in the top ten drives in Australia There are great Pubs and Winery's in the area as well ,great day trip. Southward of Talgarno is the town of Tallangatta ,the town that moved in the 1950 s due to the lake Hume rising. Further on there are valleys to explore and the gold town of Beechworth with the famous bakery and many other shops to browse. To our west is the border cities of Albury /Wodonga with all food tastes catered for and plenty of shopping . Canoe hire is available on the Murray which includes pick up and drop off.
