The Tuai Suite Waikaremoana, Established 2006 Our small self-contained suite is ideal for the beautiful walks nearby. Great lake & orchard views from its private patio and the shared deck. It's well appointed, having all one might need for a great holiday. Self check-in and bring supplies like milk. Host next door so text to get anything sorted. 1 night stay available 14 days prior. The space The Tuai Suite is fully self-contained and private with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living area, entrance, carport, and patio with a view of Lake Whakamarino. Built in 1946, the suite has been renovated and has modern amenities, sound proofing, and includes everything one might need for a great getaway. Te Urewera Park is just 1 km away and we are approximately 1 hour of winding road away from the small town of Wairoa. Napier and Gisborne are about 2 hours drive. The full kitchen is stocked with very basic complimentary self-catering breakfast food items (PLEASE SEE PHOTO). Bring your own if you have dietary restrictions. You might also find some fruit in the orchard to add to your breakfast. There is also a small chance that evening meals might be available in the village at Whakamarino restaurant. Guest access The accommodation is a well managed self-catering suite providing a private space from which to explore the local paradise. Office is closed but host onsite. Please see the floorplan image for more info. The view, yard and orchard are ready to be sampled. NOTICE: Because of road works you will have to plan your day walks around these entry and exit times. • Between 7th to 28th Feb 2026 (Except Saturday), SH38 from Tuai to Home Bay is closed at NIGHT from 8pm to 6am. • Between 2nd Mar and 5th Jun 2026 (Except Sundays), you can only drive SH38 between Tuai and Home Bay from 12 noon to 1pm, and any time after 5pm until 6am. The road from Wairoa to us here in Tuai is unaffected. The closure affects Tuai to Onepoto to Home Bay. You can still get to the walks in the times the road is open: before 8am, between 12pm and 1pm, after 5 pm. Example 1: you leave the accommodation at 12pm(-5min), drive to Aniwaniwa falls and hike the falls and Lake Waikakeiti and drive back at 5pm Example 2: you leave the accommodation at 7:30 am, drive to Onepoto caves and redoubt and drive back at 12pm. Example 3: you leave the accommodation at 5pm, drive to the Fairy Pool and drive back at 6pm. When you leave the accommodation, AND you want to drive to Rotorua through the park, you would leave here at 7:am. Other things to note * Walks may be closed! Call the park office for info. * Mobile coverage is ONE and 2degrees only. * Contact via the Airbnb app, or landline phone. * WiFi is $5/day 500mb/day multi device. * Clothes wash and line dry are free. Dryer $5/load. * EV charging Fee $10/day. Do not exceed a 9 amps. * Road closures listed on the NZTA website. * Rain forest - indoor mosquitoes, roaches & ants. * The fireplace is flame effect electric. * Consecutive baths required 2 hours reheat time. * When comparing prices, Airbnb’s total includes GST & their service fee added to the base rate.
