Description

Surrounded by the Mogollon Mountains, this glamping casita provides privacy and amenities: queen bed (medium softness) coffee maker, cooktop, mini fridge, crock pot, kitchen essentials, dresser, wardrobe, table and four chairs. Outside, you are a walk away from Sapillo Creek & the Gila Forest and a short drive to Lake Roberts. There is potable water right outside (clay pot covers the spout in the winter to prevent freezing), one privacy tent, an outhouse & a solar-powered camping shower. The space The Casita @ Sapillo Creek Escape is an adobe cabin styled as a studio guesthouse with a queen bed, and privacy. It sits adjacent to the home and is within 100 feet away from the front door of Sapillo Creek Escape and 100 feet away from Sapillo Creek Studio. There is an UPDATED outhouse and a solar-powered, portable shower and a privacy tent that can be propped up in the back of the casita for the guests to use for privacy when showering if you don’t want to use the area next to the outhouse. There is also potable well water that pumps right into the front of the casita that can be used as well. Potential Guests - please make sure you read the full description of this property fully. We are in the wilderness and the house gets cleaned after every guest thoroughly. However, the wilderness is full of bugs, lizards, collared peccaries, pine needles and so much more wonderful nature. This property is for those who understand they are booking a place that might get dusty in between guests, might accumulate a spiderweb or two after even right after cleaning. This place is for guests who understand that sometimes the wild things die nearby and can affect the way the place smells even if there is nothing nearby or the weather - for example monsoon season might bring on the smell of some damp and the dry heat of the summers may bring on more dust. This place is for guests who understand that because of my location in the wilderness, services are difficult to come by included trash services which is why people need to pack their trash out. If you are expecting a property with full-fledged amenities, please move on after you see the word "glamping" - this is camping but with a bed and a microwave and an electric stove. We have recently had several guests clearly not read the full description and their reviews really make us not want to be Airbnb hosts - we do this for the love of nature and the enjoyment of sharing our space with others who love nature and the wild. The casita was built by hand and along with the house next to it, it took nearly 7 years to complete. The bed sleeps two comfortably. If you bring cots, you can host two more people or kids at the casita. It will be tight, but it can work! Some of the mesas of the Mogollon Mountains still boast pottery and artifacts that date back to the Mogollon Indian civilizations hundreds of years ago. This is a leave no trace casita, so please take out all of the trash that you make on the property. Pets are welcome - 1 or 2 dogs, vaccinated and socialized. No smoking. Please bring your own toilet paper. Guest access Then entirety of the casita and the front and back yards including the carport. Other things to note Take a look at the double-sided casita instructions when you arrive. They should be in the casita. Please let us know if you cannot find it. The bed is a queen-sized bed with medium levels of firmness. For folks who love firm beds, this is not a firm bed. It is also not the softest bed. It’s right in the middle. Important Information about the Outhouse: Scoop some sawdust or pine shavings and throw it into the outhouse hole when you’re done to keep the odors and bugs away and to enhance decomposition of biowaste. We do not like messing with your biowaste so please keep the place clean. If it is full, get a stick and push it down. The weather will impact decomposition. Our outhouse is UPDATED - I hope you enjoy it!
