Our "Quirky" Cottage is just that!! If you want to experience "old Florida" come and stay with us in our quirky cottage nestled in old oak trees! It was originally built in 1960 as a camping cabin, it came in a box as a do it yourself kit! There are a few left around town - really unique and private space! Located just 5-10 minutes from the Okaloosa Island beaches and everything downtown Fort Walton Beach has to offer and just 15 minutes to Destin. (all depending on traffic!) The kitchen has full size stainless appliances, is fully stocked with everything you need (even some spices, coffee and sugar), seating for 4 at the table as well as 2 barstools at the counter. Recently we have installed new A/C - each room has its own split unit with remote control, the bathroom has been remodeled with a glassed in shower and tile floor (please note it is small and the ceiling is sloped). The loft area (also sloped ceilings) has a large TV, some board games and bean bag gaming chairs as well as two twin beds. Everything you need for an overnight or an extended stay! We look forward to meeting you. Whole cottage and backyard (excluding the shed's - not for guests use or access). **Property across the driveway is off limits - it does not belong to us. Please DO NOT TRESPASS!!** We live at the end of the driveway so if you need anything just text or call we will do everything possible to accommodate you. We live in a QUIET RESIDENTIAL area off of Beal Parkway. We are 5 minutes from Uptown Station and Cinco Bayou boat launch is a mile away. Many restaurants are within 5 minutes drive, as well as shopping, beaches, parks, dog park, boat ramp - we're in the heart of Fort Walton. No public transportation nearby. We supply a basic amount of paper products and trash bags to get you thru day one hopefully. All of the lights are either lamps (living room & bedrooms) or pull chains/ toggle switches on fans and ceiling mounted lights. The bathroom light switch is on the wall above the towel rack just to the right of the mirror. The backyard is fenced for the safety of your pets- but please check the gates before letting them loose - PLEASE - they are not locked and we don't want anyone's fur babies getting lost. You can access the backyard thru the queen bedroom or from the side of the house. There is a $35 pet fee (single charge) that will be charged via a request thru this app after your reservation has been confirmed.
