Description
Enjoy a visit to my Grandma's. This is a special place to rest; it is my family's Barnesville holiday home. Play a board/card game; watch a VHS/DVD movie or stream on WiFi. A quiet space to be. Grandma was a farmer, teacher, Mother, foster parent, seamstress, caregiver, and clothing clerk at GC Murphy Co. This is her Little House, which she purchased new in 1970 for her retirement. This is where she taught me and my neighborhood friends how to machine sew clothes and bake angel food cake. The space It’s like walking into a cozy house from the 70’s. Wood paneling. Lots of mirrors to make the little house feel spacious. Avocado green sinks & tub and kitchen accessories. (Also seems it was built for short people. Shower head is not very high.) It’s a quiet place to unwind, make microwave popcorn and watch a movie; or read and journal; or sit and chat. We like getting away from technology for a bit and remembering to play Yahtzee, Rummy, or Dominoes or work a puzzle and drink hot tea. This is a place to enjoy the things our Grandma liked and taught us to appreciate. Guest access You get to enjoy the entire Little House. The interior is completely furnished for you; fresh and clean, too. And the front deck is new, as of October 2022! (Yippee!) The back porch is clean and will be spruced up with new exterior walls, doors & windows, for use as an office space. (Plans are in place for Spring 2023.) Look in all the drawers and cabinets. And enjoy any of the food we left for you. Unwind, relax; take a walk downtown to sightsee and shop. Other things to note This structure was build in 1970. Please note that the toilet is low; the bathroom sink and shower head are low; it was built to those standards.
