Description

This cosy, well-equipped cottage is set in a village, away from holiday parks. A sandy beach, coastal path and all else that Pembrokeshire has to offer are nearby. At the end of the day you can look forward to time in our much-loved cottage. You can sit back and put your feet up. Hungry? No need to drive - just step out to the nearby pub or hotel for some freshly cooked local food. Maybe later you'll catch up with some reading or watch a box set on TV, before retiring to a comfortable bed. The space As a couple and as a family we've stayed in cottages ourselves about three times a year for at least thirty years. We've strived to use this knowledge to set up our cottage how we'd like to find somewhere ourselves - and more. For instance, though we aren't bakers, you'll find one drawer in the kitchen full of baking equipment. The cottage isn't in a holiday village, nor is it a purpose-built holiday flat, so you won't be surrounded by other holidaymakers. Beyond hand soap we don't supply personal toiletries, but we hopefully have everything else that you'll need - linen (we use 200 thread John Lewis bedding), towels, beach towels, hairdryer, toilet paper, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, plus more. You'll find a welcome pack that includes bread, milk, eggs, spread, tea, coffee and sugar. WiFi in the cottage is unlimited and very fast. We strive to maintain the property to a very high standard and as a result guests have always responded by showing respect in their use of the cottage. All holidaymakers are very welcome to stay. We look forward to meeting single people, couples, families, friendship groups and everyone who has come to enjoy Pembrokeshire. However, and in line with Airbnb's terms, we require that the person booking the cottage is present with the group throughout the booking, and that the cottage is not booked by a person for the use of others, including their employees. Guest access The full house is exclusively available, but please note that there is no private garden or yard. Opposite the house is a grassy area where you can sit outside on wooden seating, or give your dog some exercise, and nearby is a public play area to allow little ones to let off some steam. Downstairs is a living area, containing two sofas (one with manual recliners), 40 inch smart TV with Freeview, Catch-up, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. The dining table has enough room for 4. In case one of your party suffers from hay fever we've installed an air filter for your use to ensure that the air inside the house is clear of pollen. There is a galley-style kitchen, comprising fridge-freezer, single oven, microwave oven, washer-dryer, dishwasher, and induction hob. The (only) bathroom is also downstairs. There is a single step into the bathroom, which has an 11kW electric shower to provide plenty of hot water at all times, without people having to wait. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The front bedroom is of ample size, and has a king size bed with a good quality mattress. A bucket seat sits next to one of the windows, providing you with clear Pembrokeshire light for reading. There is a 32 inch Freeview TV that you can watch in bed, and a DVD player which can also be used downstairs. Though effective, the blinds are not blackout. The back bedroom has two full size single beds, which are suitable for adults. There is a single Velux window which does have a blackout blind. The upstairs areas are all carpeted. Please note that the cottage has no upstairs bathroom, and no garden or outside area available. Parking isn't an issue - most people leave their car on the road right outside the cottage, but our drive next door is also available, as is the village hall car park (50m). The cottage is heated by storage heaters, so remains warm 24 hours per day. You have complete control of the temperature. If you have an EV or a PHEV, we've got dedicated 7kw (type 2 Menekes untethered) and 13A charging points off-road exclusively for your use. There is a 10m charging cable available should you need it. Other things to note All holidaymakers are very welcome to stay. We look forward to meeting single people, couples, families, friendship groups and everyone who has come to enjoy Pembrokeshire. However, and in line with Airbnb's terms, we require that the person booking the cottage is present with the group throughout the booking, and that the cottage is not booked by a person for the use of others, including employees. When you're staying during colder weather, you can be sure of being warm all day in Dial Cottage. Heating is achieved with electric storage heaters. In case you've not come these before, they store heat in internal bricks overnight using off-peak electricity. They gradually release heat through the day. Thermostats control the room temperatures. The cottage remains warm all day and all night. If we know you're coming we will make sure the heating is on a day or two before you come, so you're immediately comfortable. You don't need to do anything, but you're welcome to alter the thermostats if you wish. We also leave a couple of fan heaters in the upstairs cupboard just in case! If you've got an EV, there is a 10m charging cable available should you need it.
