Whether you’re looking to explore the Fife Coastal Path, indulge in local seafood, golfing in St Andrews, or simply relax by the wood burner, this home offers the perfect Scottish getaway. The space The cottage features two spacious bedrooms (one double, one twin), and an additional sofa bed in the living room, accommodating up to six guests. Enjoy cozy nights by the fire, ambient LED lighting, and hotel-grade linens and fluffy bathroom towels for added comfort. The large kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, making it easy to enjoy meals at home. Plus, Wi-Fi and Smart HDTV are available for your convenience. Our traditional stone-built cottage offers plenty of protection from the elements, with an upgraded central heating system for oodles of hot water. The welcoming wood burner in the main living space is perfect for cosy nights in. We’ll even leave you a stash of logs for the wood burner. But why stay in when you have all the delights of the East Neuk of Fife on your doorstep? Situated just off the Fife Coastal Path, the cottage is ideally placed for enjoying coastal walks. Elie to the East and Pittenweem and Anstruther to the West offer fantastic walks with bracing sea views and plenty of interest. St Monans is ideally placed if you’re visiting St Andrews, just a 15 to 20 minutes’ drive away. There are several local links golf courses in the area which you can enjoy. The local coastal towns of Pittenweem and Anstruther make brilliant day trips. Don’t miss the boat trips to the Isle of May, which run through the summer months from Anstruther. It’s possible to see puffins, gannets, kittiwakes and other seabirds as well as dolphins during your cruise. Just a five-minute walk along the harbour will bring you to the St Monans tidal pools. Here, you can enjoy beachside open-air swimming, overlooked by the sails of St Monans windmill – all that’s left of the village’s once-thriving salt pans. A stroll along the coastal path will bring you to the clifftop ruins of the once-grand Newark Castle. The medieval Old Kirk of St Monans can be found a little further on, on the very edge of the beach, its ancient wall standing as protection from the sea. Or why not visit the whisky distilleries at Kingsbarns and Lindores Abbey which are 20 and 45 minutes away, respectively. Then why not head back to the village for refreshments? Within easy walking distance of our cottage, you’ll find East Pier Smokehouse, which specialises in smoked foods and seafood, and Craig Millar @ 16 West End, a lovely restaurant with spectacular sea views. We also love the Giddy Gannet café for coffee, sandwiches, soups and home baking maybe even a glass of wine. Convenient, roadside parking is available a few metres from the front door. If you are driving, Edinburgh is just over an hour’s drive away. St Monans is the perfect base for exploring the area and our little cottage offers everything you need for a real home from home feel.
