Cozy alpine guesthouse cabins with in-house natural hotspring baths in the forested highlands of Japan's epic 3000m Nagano Alps, offering the closest possible accommodation to the "Roof of Japan" - the Alpine Route and Takase hiking treks. Hakuba ski resorts start 15 minutes away. We also have a compact music studio in the main lodge with guitars, bass, keyboard and electronic drum kit - suitable for a small group of musicians with space for 3 to 4 players and 6 to 8 intimate audience seats. The space a) Property 1 - the main inn (with live-in innkeepers); upstairs guestrooms (2 bedrooms - 3.5m x 3.5 m. 1 room with annexe - a loft space), lounge room, dining room, laundry, bathroom (with genuine onsen hotspring bath), 2 toilets. [Kitchen not open to guests.] b) Property 2 - the side cottage (next to main inn); whole house - upstairs guestroom (single open whole-storey bedroom), lounge room, dining room, laundry, bathroom (with genuine onsen hotspring bath), 2 toilets, open kitchen. Other things to note Pricing: Note that the usual price is 7000 yen per person but on peak weeks (eg. New Year's Week, Chinese New Year and Japanese Obon) a 1000 yen surcharge per person applies (ie. 8000 yen per person). Because Airbnb's interface does not allow us to vary prices according to date, then any dates with this surcharge must be paid in cash on arrival. (We will notify you of this before your booking request is accepted. _________________________________________________________ Late checkout fee (after 10am) is 2000 yen per hour and after 12pm is 4000 yen per hour. _________________________________________________________ We do not charge for cleaning, so we want you to leave in the same state as when you came. If you mess the kitchen too much outside of common sense, an extra cleaning fee is payable. [We have only applied this just two times in 5 years for guests that splattered the plaster walls with a lot of tomato sauce, and another who left burnt sauce on the gas cooking stove).] _________________________________________________________ A few drinks is allowed but strictly no parties. (Owners will be onsite to control this.) Downstairs (lounge room and dining room) in the main property (#1) is lights out at midnight 12am - you can continue talking upstairs but no drinking upstairs. _________________________________________________________ Kitchen is not available in the property 1 where the host lives, but there is a dining area with a fridge, microwave and a toaster - but there is no running water there - only jugs (both hot and cold) filled from the kitchen. So if you want to prepare a complicated self-catering, it's only possible in the other property 2 (the yellow cottage). If you stay in the yellow cottage and use the kitchen, to protect the drain pipe system, please wipe the oil from the frying pan and used dishes with a paper towel before washing them in the kitchen sink. (And dispose of the paper towels in the bin next to the sink.) ________________________________________________ There is a big municipal hospital about 10 minutes away by car. In winter, it is recommended to use 4WD if possible with snow tires. _________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________ For guests using the music studio - some of the guitars are high-end - so it is MANDATORY to wash hands before using the guitars. This is also good practice for public hygiene. The music area is 1500 yen per hour per person. For example 2 hours using is 3000 yen per person.
