Welcome to Chicago! This gorgeous Victorian space is the entire floor and sleeps 6 on new Serta Black mattresses. Old world charm: new hardwood floors, tall ceiling & ceiling fans Modern conveniences: central HVAC, a modern kitchen, washer/dryer, alarm system, deluxe cable TV on a 52” flat screen, and smart locks. You will have weekly cleaning provided for free. We are an 8 minute walk to the L. You can get to Airport or downtown in less than 30 minutes. The space This is a super upgraded century old building. It has all wood floors throughout, a brand new modern kitchen, (complete with top of the line dishwasher, washer/dryer), a tankless water heater, and a brand new furnace. It's as deluxe as you will find. And because it's old and has hardwood floors it's important to be mindful of the sound of clomping feet! It is a walkup, one flight (no elevator). There is loads of sunlight and in the spring we just leave the windows open to let in cool air and the sounds of spring. At dusk you will be introduced to a cacophony of cicadas. So prepare for that. It's amazing when they are in season. We have cardinal and blue breast robin, that nest nearby so they will wake you up naturally if you have the windows open. It's magical! Another great feature if you dig nature. Or just close the windows and use a yucky alarm clock. We have a lovely front yard and an awesome backyard with furniture. Guest access You can use the entire place. Other things to note You will have neighbors above (me!) and below (long term regular tenants). We have never had an issue. As long as you don't have a lot of guests partying all night, we will all get along perfectly. We don’t allow parties of any kind. Ever. I am pet friendly but we gotta talk about your pet before you arrive. If your animal is not able to be quiet or is aggressive, it's just not gonna work. You know your pet, so let's just agree that if you have a VERY agreeable pet, you are welcome to bring it along. But if it's not, please don't even ask. Cats not accepted as I’m allergic. Please respect our property and the fact that we have very specific insurance provisions. Guests are not allowed. I’m perfectly willing to make the occasional exception if you ask in advance. There is no smoking allowed on the property. Anywhere. Ever.
