Contemporary family home in beautiful Howth

Our comfy spacious family home is available to rent this summer. Located on a quiet, leafy cul de sac with a beautiful sandy beach 200m from the door. It’s a 10 minute walk into Howth Village, famous for its many fish restaurants, beautiful cliff walks and beaches. You can rent a kayak, take an off-road bike tour, visit a puffin colony on an uninhabited island all within this small peninsula just a 20 minute journey from Dublin City Centre. The space The house is a mix of old and new – the front dates from 1936 and the two sitting rooms here are cosy with period features. One is set up as a tv room with two large sofas and a chair. The other is our new play room, with a 12in1 table including pool, football and air hockey - plenty to keep the kids entertained! In 2018 we added a large open plan modern kitchen, part of which is a double height space with dramatic feature fireplace suspended from the ceiling. Also downstairs is a cloakroom, utility with washing machine and tumble dryer and a toilet. Upstairs is a large master bedroom with panoramic sea views and ensuite, plus a further two bedrooms sharing a bathroom. There is also a mezzanine with where you can kick back with a gin and tonic and watch the sun set over the beach. We have a garden at the front full of veggies (which you can eat if they ripen during your stay!) and a generous rear garden with swings and trampoline. There is a picnic bench that seats 6 or more for meals in the garden. This home away from home is a clean, comfortable and welcoming space, and we hope to rent it to people who will enjoy being here as much as we do! We have a travel cot and bedside cot available. There’s also a highchair, toys, games and beach equipment available for you to use during your stay so it would very much suit a family who don’t want the hassle of having to bring everything. Equally it’s a modern, high spec place for just adults to use as a base to explore the beauty of the surrounding area. Guest access Local beach is a 2 mins around the corner through private access. Howth village 10 min by road or 15 min gentle walk along the beach. There is space for 2-3 cars in the drive. Bus stops within 2 min walk and DART (train) 10 min walk. Other things to note We are a 20 min drive (less than €30 in a taxi) from Dublin airport.
