Waterfront setting in a relaxing, but convenient, location in southeastern Vermont. Photos and captions do the best job of describing our cabin, adjacent brook, and very nearby Green River with its covered bridge and swimming holes. The cabin is 20 minutes from Brattleboro with its many restaurants, shops, movie theater, and galleries. Not only is the immediate area wonderful for swimming, biking, and hiking, you can also simply relax with a good book or two. Our place comes with fire wood, a wood stove, a fire pit, a Weber charcoal grill, and inner tubes for floating in the Green River. Kayaks and canoes can be rented in Brattleboro for use on the Connecticut River. The entire cabin and grounds may be accessed. In case we are not available ourselves to help throughout your stay, the House Manual in the cabin includes a list of three local people who stand ready to help. There is also a list that includes the house cleaner, handyman, plumber, electrician, septic service, and tree service, to call for assistance if needed. The immediate neighborhood is quintessential Vermont countryside, with its streams, hills, valleys, and pastures. Nearby Brattleboro provides all necessities plus a wide variety of restaurants, eclectic shops, galleries and the historic Latches Theater. Interstate 91, Rt. 9, Rt. 30, and Rt. 5 provide easy access to many nearby places of interest in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. You need a motor vehicle to get to Brattleboro and other places in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Descriptions of suggested swimming, hiking, biking, tubing adventures, and side trips, restaurants, etc. are provided in Guidebook available in the cabin. The cabin does not have a washer or dryer, but laundromats are available in Brattleboro. When heat is needed, if you don't want to bother with the wood stove, we have a new whole-house heater that is quiet, efficient, and warms the house beautifully. NOTE: This is a place to unplug and unwind. There is no WIFI or cell phone reception at the cabin. There is a landline for making local calls out and receiving long distance calls. WIFI and cell phone reception are available about 10 minutes from the cabin by car in Guilford Center.
