Redwood Retreat - Upscale 1 Bedroom Suite

Enjoy a restful getaway in our private guest suite on our 2 acre certified wildlife habitat among towering redwoods. The suite has a private entrance, a spacious separate bedroom with a luxurious queen size mattress, full bathroom, kitchenette, comfortable family room and private deck. Take day trips to local state parks for hiking and picnicking, sample mountain wineries, venture to the Santa Cruz beaches and attractions or stay "home" to relax surrounded by the restful redwood forest. The space The suite offers a spacious separate bedroom, family room, kitchenette, full bathroom and deck and is located on the lower level of our home. You'll have a private entrance from the large lower deck into your self-contained suite which offers privacy within your own space. The Bedroom: The bedroom is spacious and luxurious with a comfortable queen size Hotel Collection 11” tri-zone memory foam mattress with lamp-lit night stands on each side of the bed. You'll have a, dresser, a closet and a large desk that is laptop ready with outlets and wi-fi . This room has a calming and relaxing view of the redwoods with lots of natural lighting coming through the picture window. The room is heated with thermostatically controlled baseboard heaters for the cooler days and nights. Family Room: The family room is a spacious living area complete with a wood burning stove, couch and an HD large screen TV with Xfinity X1 cable system. Throw a couple logs on the fire and sit with a good book or watch a special show or sporting event. The family room has a thermostat controlled baseboard heater in addition to the wood burning stove. Kitchenette: You can prepare light meals easily in the kitchenette. It has an induction hot plate and pans for cooking, complete set of dishes, utensils and glassware, mini-fridge as well as a microwave. If you want to have morning coffee or tea you will find a hot water pot along with coffee beans and a grinder, French Press as well as cone filters. Those who prefer tea will find an assortment of black and herbal teas as well as loose leaf tea and a tea pot for brewing. Hot chocolate and instant oatmeal packets are provided for a morning snack. Microwave popcorn is available if you get the munchies at night. Guest access From the guest parking area on our driveway guests access the suite via a well-marked stairway leading down to the lower deck. Your private entry is made after walking down the outside staircase and across the deck to the sliding glass door. There is a coded entry lock box which contains the key to the door. Secret key codes will be sent after booking is confirmed. Guests will have access to the "red" bedroom, family room, kitchenette, bathroom and deck. If more space is needed for your party we have a second listing with two bedrooms which includes an additional separate bedroom, the "blue room" (view on our 2 bedroom suite listing, Redwood Retreat-Upscale 2 bedroom suite). Other things to note We live in the heart of the redwood forest and cell phone reception can be spotty depending on your service provider. Most phones will receive a signal but you may have to be outside to use the phone. We provide excellent high speed internet which will allow (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and other video calls if you use those systems. We have two cats. They are older indoor pets and are restricted to our living area. We have a couple beehives on the property well out of walking areas. Most people don't even know they are here. We have extra bee suits if you would like us to show you the inside of a hive. Weather permitting.
