Description
The Hermitage is 15 minutes from SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University and 30-35 minutes from St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton. It's in a wooded setting with a spacious living and dining room. it's good for couples, solo adventurers, and well-behaved furry friends. The space I built this house in the Adirondack style. My goal was to make it warm and interesting as well as energy efficient. Guest access The room you will be staying in is a part of the house. There is an attached bathroom and you are welcome to use the kitchen, living room/dining room, screen porch, and library. The upstairs and basement are private. There are 65 acres of woods to wander and you'll see deer, turkey, and grouse. At night, you may hear owls, coyotes, and other woodland creatures. During your stay I have named the place the Hermitage because it is secluded and private. I will see you periodically but I will be occupied most of the rest of the day. If you have questions, feel free to call me, I probably won't be far. Other things to note Check-in: I prefer to be here when you arrive to welcome you and get you settled in on your initial visit. I'm flexible and generally try to schedule a 2-hour check-in window (preferably before 10 PM) the day before your arrival. I also know that things come up--weather, late starts, etc.--so just let email, call or text me if your arrival time slips. If you are here in the winter, there may be car shuttling to accommodate snow removal. Well behaved pets are welcome. My Black Lab, Angus, generally gets along with most dogs and cats. However, don't plan to leave your pet unattended in the house unless they are in a crate. I may make exceptions once I've met you and your pet, but please don't count on it. There are several local pet sitters on rover, petsit, etc..
