Description
The bake house is a unique historical building circa 1880 that has been converted into contemporary accomodation. It is part of a precinct of three buildings, all relating the same function of supporting "Watson's" Bakery in the shop facing Macquarie street (now a funky homewares shop). You get to enjoy a three bedroom house. Three bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom and toilet, living kitchen, dining and laundry downstairs. You have your own private courtyard with a picnic setting. The space Open plan living with modern conveniences such as wifi, smart TV and bluetooth speakers - it is a relaxing and homely space to stay. Beautiful original bakery ceiling, landscaped courtyard, spacious kitchen/living and dining makes this place an easy getaway for friends, couples or families. Beautiful queen beds with comfortable mattresses and luxurious linen are a delight. Breakfast provisions are provided. The history of this place is interesting. Bread was baked for the local South Hobart community from this site. Flour chutes still remain in situ. There is still evidence of the wooden fire smoke and spot fires in the oregan beams from the bakery ovens. Gantry serviced the upper floor. With the main bedroom access, horse drawn carriages pulled up directly below. The stables behind are used as an art studio by myself. Guest access The entire house and courtyard is yours Other things to note We have some original 1880’s antiques throughout the property.
