Pet friendly cabin located just 3 miles from the Village of Saranac Lake. Guests have full access to Kiwassa Lake, just steps away (75'). Guests will enjoy access to Kiwassa Lake with dock space for a boat as needed. The cabin has a deck, picnic table and charcoal grill. We are pet friendly but please be sure to read the pet policy information-there is a $95 pet fee & 1 pet 40 pounds or less, max per cabin. This one room cabin rental has a double bed and private bath (toilet, sink and shower stall). Linens, including pillows, blankets and towels, are provided. Other amenities include two chairs for seating, coffee maker, small fridge and set of dishes. There is not a kitchen in Camp Melissa. However, 3 1/2 miles back to town for several restaurants! Wifi is not available inside the cabin but rather on our communal wifi porch with comfy seating, electric outlet and an awesome view!! Guests rent the entire cabin. Guests can enjoy all of the cabin's exterior spaces (waterfront, dock, deck) as well as the waterfront 75' away. I am available for guests if they need anything during their stay. The cabin is located on the water on the Saranac Chain of Lakes. Many guests enjoy the vintage feel of the cabins to help enjoy 'getting back to nature' and the Adirondack setting. The cabin is in a wooded area yet only 3 miles to the Village of Saranac Lake and 10 miles to the Olympic Village of Lake Placid. The cabin is waterfront, on Kiwassa Lake. Kiwassa Lake is part of the Saranac Chain of Lakes which connects over 23 miles of waterways. There are a multitude of local events regardless of the time of year. Saranac Lake hosts multiple annual events with two popular ones being the Annual Can-Am Rugby Tournament in Saranac Lake in August and the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival in February. Lake Placid was the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics and is currently the host of an annual Ironman competition. ATTRACTIONS Adirondack Museum- in Blue Mountain Lake, about an hour and a half from Saranac Lake, the Adirondack Museum has activities and exhibits for all ages. Whiteface Mountain & Chair Lift - Whiteface Mountain offers a ski mountain in the winter as well as a gondola ride in other seasons, as weather permits. On the other side of the mountain, you can also drive up to a castle at the summit on the Memorial Highway. Cabin has parking. The lake is amazing and you'll be able to rent a canoe, kayak or rowboat for your stay. PET POLICY Pets are welcome to enjoy our tranquil and secluded spot as long as they are well-behaved and barking is kept to a minimum. Here’s what you need to know and what you will agree to when you bring your pet pet - -Non Refundable Pet Fee: $95 There is a maximum of one pet per rental and all pets must be accounted for in advance, at the time the reservation is made. It is unacceptable to arrive without previous permission and reservation for a pet. Any misrepresentation of facts will void any arrangements heretofore made. -Guests Must clean up after their Pets Guests must pick up after your pet when they relieve themselves (remember to bring your doggie bags - no one likes to have foul odor emitting from the bottom of their shoe). At the end of your stay, if the cabin is not the way you found it (e.g. excessive shedding and dog hair is found), there will be an excess cleaning charge deducted from your security deposit. -Pets cannot be left alone on the property When guests leave the rental, pets must go with you. Pets will be in an unfamiliar environment which requires reassurance and comfort, as any child would. Guests who leave pets unattended will be asked to leave and will forfeit any monies, including rental fee paid for the duration of the reservation as well as security deposit. -Immunizations and Flea Treatment Prior to arrival, ensure that your pet’s medications and immunizations are up-to-date, especially flea treatment. Please bring a copy of your pet’s immunization record - we will ask to see this upon arrival. Fleas and ticks can be found in the Adirondacks. Prior to arrival, apply flea control medication to your pet so it has time to take effect. We will ask for proof of this upon arrival. -Pet Sitting Pet sitting services can be arranged but advance reservation is required. Feel free to inquire when you make your initial reservation. Requests for pet sitting upon short notice is very difficult to accommodate. -LEASHES ARE REQUIRED All dogs must be on a leash when outside the rental. Pets can be very territorial when in an unfamiliar environment. Pets must be controlled by their owners in order to ensure safety of all guests. -Pets aren't allowed on the furniture Cleaning fees will be assessed if it is determined that pets have been allowed to romp and roll on the furniture.
