Marlene's Room is the largest of the three bedrooms in the Broad Street Manor. It is at the front of the house and faces west to Broad Street. It is a lovely room with antique furniture and Persian rugs set with period correct wallpaper. The Jack and Jill bath is shared with Dorothy's Room. When Dorothy's Room is not rented then guests have a private bathroom. We have a 2 night minimum stay on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The Broad Street Manor is located on a busy street so you can expect normal traffic noise during business hours on week days. The home was built circa 1868. It is one of the historic Stocks Milling Company homes owned by the Stocks family. Extensive renovation was completed by the previous owners Dr. Thomas and Elizebeth Burke from Hillsdale College over a period of 20 years. We are very grateful for how they kept the graciousness, uniqueness and charm of the home during their labor of love. Their vision to keep the Broad Street Manor as true to the original structure as possible makes the manor very unique in the area. There are a number of older homes on Broad Street. Many have been restored or are in the restoration process. The Broad Street Manor is close to the small downtown area. There are several coffee shops and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. If you are looking for a night scene with an "urban vibe" it is not in Hillsdale! You are stepping back several decades in time to small town America when you come to Hillsdale. Things are simple here, more slow and deliberate where you feel safe at night walking on the street. That is not such a bad thing when we think how busy and complicated our lives have become. Experience the charm of Hillsdale with a stay at the Broad Street Manor. Sun Room, Living Room and Media Room Your hosts (Brian and LInda) live in the residence and will be available at check in and during your stay. They can be reached by cell phone if needed.
